“Three for Free at IVC” Tournament Irvine Valley College Oct 9, 16, and 23, 2015 Greetings Colleagues: The IVC Tournament this year will be spread into three parts over three consecutive Fridays in October (9, 16, and 23). We offer these three days of competitions as early opportunities in the season to complement the Davidson Memorial Tournament at CUI (October 17-18) and the Watson-Lancer Invitational at PCC (October 23-24). We have several objectives for our unique scheduling. First, we cannot secure enough rooms for preliminary rounds to begin until noon. Additionally, this model should serve as a “proof of concept” for future tournaments that may not be able to secure rooms over a full weekend. We are happy to offer these opportunities without any entry fee whatsoever. But, every school is required to provide judges for their entire entry for every round including eliminations. Tournament headquarters will be in the Business Science and Innovation Technology Center (BSTIC 210) on Jeffrey Blvd next to the Performing Arts Center. Parking permits are required and cost $5/day. Please park “nose-in” in Lot 4 or 5, the parking lots closest to BSTIC. A campus map can be found at http://www.ivc.edu/resources/maps/Pages/campus_map.aspx Web-entry registration will be completed via Forensicstournament.net. You are encouraged to get your entry in as soon as you can as we need to limit entries to 36 rooms. Entries will close Tuesday at 5pm before the Friday of each part unless tournament size reaches our 36 room threshold. A wait list will be generated should you find that one part of entry system is closed. Once the entry system closes, all drops or changes should be sent to etiongson@ivc.edu. If you have any questions, please contact Edwin at with the contact information noted below. We look forward to having you on our campus and to participate in IVC’s “Three for Free” Tournament. Sincerely, Gary Rybold grybold@ivc.edu 949-451-5417 Edwin Tiongson etiongson@ivc.edu 949-451-5346 Jules French jfrench7@ivc.edu 949-451-5329 PART I: OCT 9th – The Rybold Great to be Free NPDA We will offer four preliminary rounds of NPDA, a dinner break, and two elimination rounds (all judges are committed for all six rounds/one judge for two teams).
