It’s All About
Multiplication?
Can you multiply 12,000 x 12 without a
calculator? How about 6,000,000 x 3? Quiz
your student this week with these problems.
We have started chapter 3 of our MyMath
book. This is double digit by single digit
multiplication. We started with fact families.
See if you student can give you the fact
family of 7 x 3? There should be 4 problems
that go with it. We will continue to work with
multiplication over the coming weeks. If your
student still has not mastered his/her single
digit facts, please keep practicing as this is
vital to being successful in these chapters.
Last week, the students created their
mission models. Please see the website for
photos of this. The students will be
presenting their models to the class this week
to finish off our Modern Mission Project.
Remember, spelling words go out the first
day of the week. Also, please have your
student read 20 minutes a day to work
toward his/her AR goal.

Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival is almost here! Join
us on Friday, October 24, 2014 5pm to 8pm
for some harvest fun! There will be games,
food, and other great activities.
Some donations are needed to make this
awesome event possible. Please see the
flyer and help out if possible.

Resource of the Week
This week’s resource is IXL Math. IXL
math allows you to practice 10 problems free
daily on any of the 4th grade common core
standards. You can practice multiplication,
place value, addition to millions, and
subtraction over zeros. You can even see
what standards we will be learning over the
year and get a head start learning. Check
out the resource page for this great activity.
