Heritage Academy is an independent, University - Model Christian School whose
purpose is to provide its students with a comprehensive, college preparatory
education from a Christian perspective. This comprehensive approach is
accomplished through a format that makes provision for both trained classroom
instruction and individualized parent involvement. Strong curriculum, low
student/teacher ratios and effective instruction coupled with a student- centered
focus has given us a strong track record of success.

School Calendar
Heritage Academy follows a university-style format with
classes held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The
average student/teacher ratio is 16 to 1. Tuesdays and
Thursdays are spent at home under the supervision of
parents or at various science and math labs or field trips.
The parents function as co-teachers and guide their student
in completion of the assigned work. Students are
encouraged to continually take additional responsibility for
time management and course requirements. The school
day is divided into six 55-minute periods. Students in
grades 9-12 have an additional 25 hours of science labs.

University-model education was developed to provide rigorous education, while growing self-motivated learners
and active problem solvers in partnership with parents to disciple Christian young people.
This model consists of three main components:
1.) A Biblical foundation with an emphasis on discipleship.
2.) Integration between the school and the home.
3.) An emphasis on academic excellence and leadership development.

their communities for the good of all.
Community Service
Students who attend Heritage are naturally guided into
serving – through local ministries, our annual school
mission trip to Jamaica, through Beta Club and National
Honors Society activities. All students in grades 9-12 are
required to log 12 hours per year in community service.
School Arts, Drama, Academic and Sports Programs
Students are encouraged to participate in fine arts
through a growing elective offering. Students also enter
local and state competitions for arts and drama (2014
Junior Quinlan Award awarded to Heritage Academy
student). In 2015, students will perform A Midsummer
Night’s Dream.
