This is your last opportunity to jot down quotes into your Quote Cubes (or more accurately Quote Quadrilateral—thank you Caleb). Finale of Oedipus the King Now that we have finished the play, revisit your anticipation guide for Oedipus the King. Fill out “A” for agree or “D” for disagree for each statement. Did any of your opinions change after reading the play? Thematic Anticipation Guide In your groups for Word Wednesday, you will be assigned one of the four topics from your Quote Cubes. Your group must collect the following: Five Questions (open-ended questions about your topic to promote discussion) Five Quotes (about your topic with line numbers) Write a thematic statement about your topic. What does the play say about ? Remember your thematic statement should be universal. It should not be written in 2nd person. EACH group member is responsible for recording this information (i.e. EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE NOTES!) Home Groups Jigsaw Activity Now your groups will mix with representatives from each topic. In your new groups, report out on the important information from your home group. Be sure to share your thematic statement and how your group came up with that theme. Also, ask your group at least 2 of your questions and discuss them in your groups.
