If you have not yet created an account in Noodletools, you need to do so IN
SCHOOL to allow Noodletools to automatically authenticate you for NPSD. If you
want to create an account at home, use the NPSD district authentication log in: npsd
and Pasword: pioneer.
If you already have an account, click on Current Users: Sign In on the Noodletools
home page.
If requested to do so, use npsd as the user name and pioneer as the password.)
CREATING YOUR Personal Account
If you do not have a NoodleTools account, click on Create a Personal ID.
1. Leave I am a student or library patron selected.
2. Choose a personal ID.
3. Choose a password.
4. Retype the password.
5. Fill in the last four digits of your phone number.
*** Write your personal ID and password somewhere so you can find it. ***
6. Click Register.
Click on Create a New Project: Choose MLA Advanced (HS), Junior (MS), Starter
(Elementary)
Type a name for your project in the Description window.
Click Create Project

General Directions for each citation
For each Citation you will:
● Click on the down arrow in the Cite a (<Select a citation type>) window. Chose the
type of citation you need. The most common ones are Book, Magazine, Newspaper,
Reference Source and Web Site. Click Create Citation.
● Just to make sure you have chosen the right citation type, NoodleBib asks you to clarify
your choice. Read their questions, make any selections if necessary and click the Next
button.
● The next screen asks you to pick the way the citation was published: Print, Online,
Electronic, etc. Choose the correct one and click Next.
● You may get other screens asking you to make further choices. Select the ones that
apply to your citation and click Next to move on. (For our online databases, select Yes,
information about a print publication is provided and Subscription database.)
● When you get to the template, fill in the information you have about your source.
**Important: you must click Add after typing the author’s name or it will not appear in
your citation.
● If the MLA citation is provided for you, you can use Quick Cite and Copy and Paste the
MLA citation into the space for Manually Edited Citations. Click on Submit to save the
citation.
● When you have completed the template, click Submit at the bottom of the page.
● Check for errors, omissions, etc. You are now ready to start another citation.
Remember: NoodleTools does not correct spelling or wrong information.
Online Interlibrary Loan Directions
To search the JerseyCat online catalog for the statewide interlibrary loan system, go to the
district website and click NPHS or NPMS and then on “Media Center”. On the left-hand side, in
the dark green area, click on Online Catalogs. On the catalog page, click on JerseyCat
Interlibrary Loan and begin your search. This search interface will give you access to
materials in public, college, school, corporate and institutional libraries throughout New
Jersey.
