No late work will be accepted after a grading period closes, except for work that is missed due to an absence. Acceptable late work is subject to a maximum grade of 70. MAKE-UP WORK: Students will be permitted to make up tests and turn in projects and assignments that are late because of an excused or unexcused absence. For excused absences, teachers shall not assess a late penalty for student work coming in after the original due date. Students are expected to hand in work on time for the new due date established upon their return to class. However, if a student hands work in late, the teacher may assess a late penalty. The only exception to this policy is a due date that was established as part of a long term project or assignment. In this case, the student is expected to have the work ready upon returning to the class. RE-DOING FAILING DAILY GRADES: The re-doing of failing daily grades is left up to teacher discretion. RETESTING AND/OR TEST CORRECTIONS OF MAJOR ASSIGNMENTS: Retesting/test corrections must be recovered within 3 class periods.
