Art 1 Art Show & Final Exam
Create a display of your best work for your final exam.
Requirement
1. Get display board.
2. Choose 4 or more artworks that you
made for a class assignment this
semester. Fix them up now if needed.
3. Choose artist statement artwork
4. Write rough draft artist statement
5. Write final artist statement
6. Mount artworks on display with
titles, and artist statement
7. Mount first and last names,
art class on display
8. Decorate your display around the
artworks.
9. Art Show Display is Due:
Bring display to class and then set up
in the library
10. Use rubric to grade your own
display
11. Request alternate art show

Details
Find one at Walmart, Staples, Michael’s, dollar
stores. Work on this final display at home.
No time in class is permitted.
Artworks must be finished, neat, not wrinkly,
folded, or ripped. Artworks not attached to display
board must have your name on them.
3D artworks must be displayed on a platform of any
material.

Type or neatly handwrite on unlined paper, not in
pencil. This must appear on your display.
Friday, Dec. 11
Do not allow tape to be visible on your display unless it is
decorative tape. Do not allow glue or other adhesives to
be visible: be neat. Use a mounting technique
appropriate to the weight and size of your artwork. Your
teacher will demonstrate in class. For paper, use Elmer’s
Glue, stitching, adhesive film, make a hanger, hot glue,
spray adhesive, etc. Do not allow artworks to hang over
the sides of your board by more than 2”. Any artwork
hanging over the edges must be mounted or thick. You
may hang over the top of the display as much as is safe.
No dangerous objects like pins sticking out are
permitted.

This is necessary for judging. If your last name or art
level are missing, you will not be considered for awards.

Designs should be on a theme. It is better to keep it
simple than to overcrowd your artwork.

Displays will not be accepted late.

only in emergencies. Student must provide

Art Show Artist Statement Requirements
Art 1 displays must fit on the short bookcases.
You should do this before you submit your display
as well!
If you cannot attend the artshow, you must request
an alternate day and time to complete your critique
Plan to spend half an hour at the art show.
View every display. Complete and submit the
critique sheet before you leave the art show.
Bring your own pencil.
After 2 days, displays becomes property of the art
department
