OUTLINE THE SKILLS THAT YOU POSSESS THAT WOULD BENEFIT YOU IN THIS POSITION. -----------------------------------------------------------ENTRY LEVEL - Actually, upon graduation I would actually like to further my studies on the Hilton company. Summing down my research, I listed 2 options: a) Graduate Management Development Program - I believe this is the backup option I want to choose because I would love to get an opportunity to experience the different job roles within a hotel facility > operations > business development > human resources > finance - There will also be opportunities given as to if I would want to complete a business driven project, or if I would want to specialize in a specific area > front office > food & beverage > sales or events - This program gives an entry level management salary - If you complete the program with good results, you will be able to land job placement opportunities at any participating hotels b) Elevator is Hilton’s award winning, fast track development program - I would count this as my first option because out of all the positions within a hotel, I would most likely strive to become a hotel manager > Since this is a fast track development program, hopefully it will be able to help me land that position quicker - The purpose of this program is to help you get into the general manager or hotel manager position - This program last about 5-8 years > Within this time, it consist of two international 9-month hotel placements > While at the placements, you have to work in four areas of the hotel: > Operations > Business Development > Human Resources > Finance -----------------------------------------------------------MY SKILLS - Skills that I possess that will help benefit this position includes: > I’m capable of working on my own and also within a team > I’m a hard worker and since this will be my first encounter of any hotel working experience, I can be molded into the employee my boss will want me to be since I don’t have any experiences > I’m patient and also a keen observer and listener > If assigned to be leader of a task, I’ll make sure everything is organized and divided up right > If given a difficult situation, I will attempt to problem solve on my own first > I’m a very friendly and social person so I can easily and mannerly interact with guests > I’m very mature for my age as to I know how and when to act during specific situations > I have great time management so I will always complete the tasks right away > I’m a very positive person, and I know I’ll be able to represent Hilton with the most respect -----------------------------------------------------------AFTER 3 YEARS OF WORKING FOR THAT ORGANIZATION, WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF ADVANCING TO IN THAT COMPANY? -----------------------------------------------------------ADVANCING TO - If I’m able to experience the Elevator’s fast track development program; in 3 years’ time, I would see myself still being part of the program - Although at the end of the program, I would see myself advancing to the hotel manager position because that’s one of the end options you get to pick once you’ve finished the program ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------
