ACT/SAT/PSAT Test Schedule for 2014/15
The ACT and SAT tests are scheduled by the respective boards and not by CVUSD or
TOHS. Students must register and pay for the tests online, not at TOHS. Please review the
test schedules to best determine which test you should register for. Be aware of deadlines!
Both ACT and SAT will charge extra for late registration.
ACT Test Schedule
SAT Test Schedule
SAT Subject Test Schedule
UPDATED PSAT Test – The PSAT test is the only College Board test administered by
TOHS. This test is scheduled for Saturday, October 18th. Freshman and Sophomore Honors
students and all Juniors are highly encouraged to take the PSAT. It is a valuable tool for
students to get feedback about critical academic skills that they have learned during their
school career. And it helps prepare them for the SAT as, on average, students who take the
PSAT score 136 points higher on the SAT than those who do not test.
This is an important opportunity for Juniors as those with outstanding scores may be eligible
for college scholarships as Seniors. It is also a full length practice test that will indicate areas
that students need to study prior to taking the SAT.
Registration is now open and the cost of the test is $25. You may sign-up online with a credit
card at the TOHS Student Store, or in person at the CCC or Student store. Please note that
the Student Store and CCC will only accept checks made payable to CVUSD or cash.
ACT/SAT Test Preparation
TOHS is partnering with The Princeton Review to provide an on campus SAT or ACT test
prep class. Each class will include 18 hours of instruction time after school on campus,
beginning mid-September and 3 practice diagnostic tests. Please call Cicero Salmon at 626722-8544 for more information and to make reservations.
*NEW* Catalyst Test Prep is offering an SAT Bootcamp in the TOHS library on Saturday &
Sunday, September 27th & 28th. The cost is $175 and you must enroll by September 24th.
No walk-ins will be accommodated. Visit www.CatalystPrep.com and click on “Bootcamp
Sign-Up” or you may call 800 235-0056. Flyers are available in the CCC and the Activities
office.
UPDATE: Kaplan Test Prep will be conducting a mock ACT and mock SAT test on
Saturday, September 20th. This will be a great way to prepare for the upcoming official tests.
The tests will take place in the Lancer Library. The $20 cost is a fundraisers for the TOHS
PTSA Scholarship Fund. As the CCC will be closed September 17th-19th, students may sign
up in the Activities office. Cash or check (made out to TOHS PTSA) will be accepted to
confirm a seat at the test.
*NEW* Kaplan Test Prep has created a personal TOHS website for information regarding
classes, tutoring, opportunities at TOHS and tips for testing. Check it out!

Figuring out what college to go to, how to get there and planning out the road map to the
perfect school and career is not a quick or easy process.

discover what career path they want to follow.
You can also check out http://colleges.niche.com/, a student recommended website to
research what real students and parents are saying about colleges. Find out where stude nts
ranks colleges in academics, athletics, campus dining, housing, drug safety, transportation,
weather and much more.
