JOB DESCRIPTION/PERSON SPECIFICATION A POSITION DETAILS DIVISION: Business Support DEPARTMENT/BUSINESS SECTOR: MIS Security JOB TITLE: Unified Networks Analyst REPORTING TO: MIS Security Manager GRADE: 11 B JOB PURPOSE Role and Context C To design, implement and maintain a secure and available networking environment enabling SITA UK to achieve its strategic goals. This requires an understanding of SITA UK’s business strategy for growth and acquisition to ensure that the network environment is an enabler rather than a constraint Working alongside colleagues in MIS to provide networking expertise for strategic plans, day-today operations and project work, offering pan-departmental knowledge of implications of data requirements of/for other activities. To provide 2nd and 3rd level technical input & ownership for problem and incident resolution of all data and voice technologies deployed. Based in Maidenhead, working within the Unified Networks Team. Shift pattern rota is a part of this role. GENERAL CRITERIA (ESSENTIAL & DESIRABLE) KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING/SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: CISCO qualified or studying: CCNA Minimum with a good knowledge of fault diagnosis and analysis for Cisco hardware: routers, switches etc. Degree level education and or minimum of one years experience in network design and operations. A good level of understanding of communication protocols, in particular IP (over LANs and WANs) Knowledge of MPLS, DSL, WifFi and emerging connectivity technologies.
