Overview :Located around the idyllic hill-town of Panchgani in Western India, Mapro Foods
manufactures Fruit Jams; Fruit beverage concentrates – Crushes and Squashes; and Fruit Bars.
With an annual processing capacity of around 30 thousand MT, Mapro is a market leader in
Western India. The company has grown organically over the last five decades with sustained
Profitability. Known for its quality and innovation, Mapro has been built on its founder’s
philosophy of developing products that are wholesome, nutritious, value-for-money, and
imaginative.
History :50 fruitful years
Founded in 1959, the Company had its humble beginnings in the hill-town of
Panchgani, near Mahabaleswar, when a businessman named Kishore Vora a pharmacist by
profession, decided to make some strawberry jam. He then went on to develop innovative
products such as jelly sweets, fruit cubes with fruit juice and rose syrups with rose petals – all
for the first time in country. Today, his ‘hobby’ has borne fruit in the shape of Mapro, one of
the most modern, hygienic, quality-focussed fruit product manufacturing units in India. His
vision has been taken forward, thereby transforming the region around Mahabaleshwar and
Panchgani, the erstwhile sleepy hill stations of Maharashtra, into a flourishing fruit processing
zone.
 1959 :- Strated operation in small room, as a home business.
 1963 :- Started production for local sale
Innovated strawberry, rose juice, pectin jelly.

1975 :- Established association with financial partner which lasted for two year.
 1978 :- Launched MAPRO brand.
 1987 :- Started first self-owned factory.
 2005 :- Set up the state of the art with 30000MT cold storage at shendurjane. Wai,
Satara is capable pre cooling 20MT of fresh fruit per day.
 2006 :- New state of the art line set up for processed fruit product.
 2009 :- Celebrated golden jubilee year.

Having started with a capacity of 10MT of processed fruit products a year, the
Company today has a processing capacity of about 30,000MT per Year with its factories in the
Shendurjane village of Satara district, Panchgani town.

With its state-of-the-art production facilities, Mapro is committed to
developing, producing, packaging, storing and selling food products, with high regard for safety,
nutrition and taste, by continually improving quality and food safety management systems to
meet and exceed customers’ expectations.
The company has obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification and ISO 22000:2005
certification from BVQi. The implementation of B. R. C. Standards is being planned in the near
future.

Beyond business: Mapro Foods has a flat organisational structure where management and
employees work hand-in-hand. Lunch is cooked in the common canteen for one and all,
including guests, who all eat the simple, sumptuous and wholesome meal together. Employees
who have put in a number of years of service are recognized and felicitated. The education of
children of employees is encouraged and supported and employees’ families are included in all
celebrations.
The development of the village of Gureghar, comprising around 70 families,
between 1971 and 1985, is a case-study in itself. It started out with 12 persons working as
permanent employees at the Gureghar fruit processing unit, with the rest into subsistence
farming. But for them too, there was hope. They had continuous and sustained income with a
ready market at their doorstep. They started growing strawberries, with technical guidance
from Mapro, and today the region has the highest produce of strawberries in all of India, one of
the major catalysts for the manifold increase in tourist inflow over time .
About the company :Mapro Foods Pvt. Ltd. intends to pursue acquisitions to expand their businesses. The
company is holding talks with investment bankers to identify and buy smaller food companies.
"We are planning to buy small, regional companies that have the potential but are unable to
scale up their business in areas of vegetarian healthy food," said Mayur Vora, Managing
Director, Mapro Foods. "We are looking at companies with revenues of INR 300 million - INR
500 million," he said. "The funds for the acquisitions will come from its bankers and internal
accruals and not through divestments." He also added that an acquisition will give the company

Plants :Mapro have total 5 production units. Having started with a capacity of 10MT of
processed fruit products a year, the Company today has a processing capacity of about
30,000MT per Year with its factories in the Shendurjane village of Satara district, Panchgani
town, Gureghar village of Mahabaleshwar tehsil, Pathankot in Punjab and Indora town of Kangra
district in Himachal Pradesh.
PRODUCTION AND WORKERS:In mapro workers are work in four units these are falero unit, jam
unit, Packaging unit and bottling unit, in Falero Unit there are 100 employes are working, in
jam Unit 20 employes, in packaging unit 20 employes, bottling Unit 20 employes are working.
In bottling unit production is 2200 litters per day. And in Falero unit produce 20 lacks
pieces per day

Change in Management
During the year, vide share purchase agreement dated January 17,2013
entered into between Mr. G K Somani & Others and Mr. Sandeep Gupta &
Others, the company was taken over by Mr. Sandeep Gupta & Others.

The Company has no employees in the category specified under section
217 (2A) of the Companies Act, 1956 (the Act), read with the Companies
Particulars of Employees) Rules, 1975.
