THE US CONSTITUTION GROUP WORK ASSIGNMENT
Directions: Use an IPad to pull up a copy of the US constitution or use your pocket
constitutions to answer the questions in complete sentences and or paragraphs if the
question calls for it. You will need to use outside sources to answer some of the
questions, make sure you cite your sources. Every member of the group will need to
know all the information, because you will be presenting your findings to the class.
Your group will be teaching the class on your assigned article and section of the US
Constitution. You may make a presentation however you choose, the more creative the
better.
Group 1: Article 1 section 1, 2, 3
1. List the set up and requirements of the House of Representatives.
2. What compromise is mentioned in Article 1 section 2?
3. What is issued when there is a vacancy in the representation from any state?
Explain what it is.
4. What role does the House of Reps play in the impeachment process?
Section 3
1. List the set up for the Senate.
2. What is the rotation of the Senate?
3. List the requirements of Senate.
4. Who is president of the Senate? What role do they serve in Senate?
5. What is the President Pro Tempore? Who is the Current President Pro
Tempore?
Group 2: Article 1 Section 4, 5, 6
1. Who holds elections for Senators and Representatives?
2. Where are the elections conducted?

1. What is needed to conduct business in the House? Explain in detail.
2. What is needed to expel a member in each house?
3. What does each house keep during its proceedings? Why do they keep
them?
4. Without the consent of either House what is need to expel a member for
disorderly behavior?

the Bill and it’s timeline of its passage through congress until the president

Group 4: Article 1 Section 8
1. What is section 8 referring to?
2. Summarize all the powers of congress.
3. List all the wars that have been voted on by congress and formally declared by
the United States Congress (cite your source).
4. What branches of government are war powers split between?
5. What are implied powers?
6. What does the Elastic clause do? Cite in the Constitution where it references the
Elastic Clause.
Group 6: Article 2 Section 1 and 2
1. Describe the set up and requirements of the Presidency.
2. Find current salary of the president of US. Find whether or not President
Obama accepts his salary (cite source).
3. Explain what the President does as commander in chief (cite source).
4. What happens if there is a tie in the Electoral college vote?

1. What reason can a president, Vice President and civil officers of the US be
impeached (removed) from office?
