fire
Our Lady of Lourdes Youths are 'on fire' at
NorCal Jam at Six Flags in Vallejo
Some 4,000 Catholic youths from across nine dioceses
in Northern California and Nevada joined in the
second annual event for Catholic youth ministry by
attending the ON FIRE NorCal Jam Sept. 24 at Six
Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo.
The day of music, food, fun and fellowship including
morning praise and worship with Matt Maher and
Mass with Bishop Jaime Soto, other Northern
California bishops, and 19 priests.
Speakers included Jason Evert, Paul J. Kim, Frere
Phong, Lili Flores and Marilyn Santos. Youths
enjoyed lunch and rides at Six Flags. The evening
concert featured Matt Maher, One Sonic Society and
Sons and Daughters.

Baby Bottle CampaignPlease help an unborn child by supporting A
Woman's Friend .
We will be distributing baby bottles after mass. We
ask that you take the bottles home and fill them with
a check, cash, or coins, and return them to the
church no later than Sunday, October 23, 2011. The
funds raised will by the baby bottle campaign will
be used to further enhance the client services at A
Woman's Friend. If you have any questions, please
contact our church coordinator, Rocio Meraz at
831-207-0962.
Maxwell Sacred Heart Parish Annual Bazaar will
be held on October 29, 2011 at the Maxwell Legion
Hall. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be
served from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Take-out is also
available. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $4 for
children ages 4 – 10, and 3 and under eat free. There
will also be a raffle, silent auction, country store with
homemade crafts and foods, paddle wheel and games
for the children. Raffle and dinner tickets can be
purchased at the Williams Church Rectory (4732432) or by contacting Jean Roper at 438-2438.

OLL YOUTH GROUP FUNDRAISING
This October 30th @7pm, Our Lady of Lourdes
Church Youth Group will sponsor a piano concert by
RUDOLF PELAEZ GOLEZ, sole prize winner at
the First ASEAN Chopin International Piano
Competition in Manila.
His concert will include pieces from Chopin, Bach,
Mozart, Paganini/Liszt, and Debussy.
At the age of 13 he left for New York City and
studied at the renowned Juilliard School under
Seymour Lipkin. Further Studies brought him to
Graz, Austria and finally graduated with the degree of
Master in Music major in Piano Performance.
Tickets will be available in the office and before all
Masses at Our Lady of Lourdes.
Thank You Knights of Columbus
Amy Reister would like to thank the Knights of
Columbus for sponsoring her at the World Youth
Day. She had a wonderful spiritual experience at
the WYD that pushed her outside of her comfort
zone in every possible way. While in Madrid she
felt the Holy Spirit was with her in her
pilgrimage.

Bake Sale
The Faith formation is having a Bake Sale the weekend of October 22 and 23rd before all Masses at Our
Lady of Lourdes Church. Anyone interested in baking
an item or giving a donation, this would be
appreciated.
Monies will go for the materials for the Faith
Formation Group
40 Days for Life campaign consists of 40 days of
prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil, and community
outreach. From September 28th to November
6th, the following five cities in our diocese will
join with almost 300 others around the country for
the largest and longest coordinated pro-life
mobilization in history.

Bishop Soto will celebrate opening masses for the
Sacramento Campaign at St. Ignatius Parish, 3235
Arden Way, Sacramento, at 6:30 pm on Monday,
September 26, and for the Fairfield Campaign at
Holy Spirit Parish, 1050 North Texas Street,
Fairfield at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 27.
