Picturehouse Central, a 1050 seat, 7 screen cinema on Shaftesbury Avenue near
Piccadilly Circus is due to open summer 2015.

In addition to a diverse programme of films, ranging from quality blockbusters to
independent, classic, foreign-language and art-house, Picturehouse Central will
include a core programming strand dedicated to championing documentaries. The
cinema will also show live HD broadcasts of productions from world-class arts
venues, such as the New York Metropolitan Opera and the Bolshoi Ballet, theatre
productions such as the Royal Shakespeare Company Live from Stratford-upon-Avon
and National Theatre Live, art exhibitions and filmmaker Q&As.
As our flagship West End cinema, the very highest standards in all areas, need to be
maintained at all times.
Marketing premiers and filmmaker events will be an important part of the job and the
successful candidate will have experience of marketing special events. Both cafébars and the Members Bar are an integral part of the experience here and a passion
for and/or experience of an F&B offering is also desirable.
Picturehouse Central is part of Picturehouse Cinemas who operate 21 cinemas
across the UK and are a stand-alone division of Cineworld PLC.

Vacancy
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ marketing experience in the retail, leisure
or entertainment sectors.
Each Picturehouse cinema has a dedicated Marketing Manager on their local team. We are
looking for an individual who is passionate about cinema, films and events and who can
engage with our local communities. Strong communication skills are essential as is the ability
to use Social Media to find new audiences and attract them to the cinema.
Please note there is a requirement to work 40 hours per week over any of the seven days
with some work at evenings and weekends. An hourly rate of £8.93 per hour is paid for the
role.

Job Description: Cinema Marketing Manager
Job Purpose
To take prime responsibility, under the leadership of your General Manager, for your cinema’s
marketing and for liaison with the Head Office marketing and events teams. The aim is that the
cinema’s activities and facilities are promoted effectively to existing and new audiences so that
attendances for films and events reach their full potential and ancillary income is maximised.
Main Duties
1. Liaising with the Head Office marketing teams and taking responsibility for the correct local delivery
of centrally-arranged marketing and events activity.
2. Managing the cinema’s electronic marketing processes, ensuring that email communications and
website news items are pre pared for Head Office in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Ensuring that local Social Media marketing is fully utilised and aligned with Head Office Social
Media marketing priorities and advice.
4. Taking responsibility for effective in-house displays, ensuring films and events are well publicised
and that third- party advertising is appropriately and tidily displayed.
5. Overseeing the cinema’s use of print marketing, ensuring that content for brochures (including
advertising) is with designers within agreed timescales; managing the effective distribution of
brochures.
6. Ensuring that on-screen marketing (trailers and internal and external advertising) is current, relevant
and as directed.
7. Ensuring internal and external food and drink marketing is effective and integrated throughout the
cinema and its communications.
8. Building up effective marketing relationships in the community to promote the cinema in general and
club & group screenings in particular.
9. Gaining un paid-for positive press and publicity articles in local media about the cinema and its
activities; maintaining and using a full and up-to-date press contact list.
10. Helping to generate enquiries for private and corporate hires of all (or any) of the cinema’s spaces
and increasing their profitability.
11. Undertaking any other duties which may be reasonably requested of you by the Company for the
effective functioning of the cinema and to maximise its business.
