Texas Education Code - Chapter 45

Bonds may not be issued and taxes may not be levied unless authorized by a
majority of the qualified voters of the district, voting at an election held for that
purpose, at the expense of the district, in accordance with the Election Code.

If the Bond Election is passed by the Voters, it provides an authorized maximum
dollar amount for the District to sell bonds and incur debt.

Sale of Bonds
 Must be approved by the Board of Trustees
 Rarely sold all at once – usually sold in increments over multiple years
 With potential Nov. 2015 Bond Election, first bond sale in early 2016 and Debt
Service payments begin in August 2016 (Fiscal Year 2016-2017)
