Our Speakers are Patrick Eiden of History CO and a short story telling section with Paul Bonnifield, should be a great one! 530pm Tue August 26 at the Library. Zero Waste – as always, volunteers are needed for this weekend’s free concert and Saturday Market – there’s a link at the bottom of your agendas, please send this to people you know who are needing community service hours! Yampa Valley Recycles - YVR placed 5 temporary recycle containers along Yampa St and at Little Toots and Weiss Park. Ernie Jenkins with Parks and Rec is servicing the units. Have attended City Council meetings to encourage their support to make recycling service and permanent containers part of their long term budget. Saturday Safeway recycling: Due to financial restraints the last Safeway service will be Sat. August 16. We are currently investigating a more financially feasible and sustainable long term Saturday recycling option. A letter has been submitted to upper level Waste Management personnel in Denver to ask that they consider opening their Steamboat recycle yard on Saturdays. We still have not had a reply. We are still acquiring data from the local haulers for the Feasibility Study. As of now, no new information to report. The fall CDOE will be Sat. Oct 4th from 9-12 at Howelsen Hill. Stay tuned for more details. All of the above will be discussed in more detail at the YVR monthly meeting tomorrow from 12-1 in this room.
