CBA used Business Assessment Test (BAT) to assess a total number of 2469 students from 7
different campuses including Long Beach, Dominguez Hills, Fullerton, San Jose, Stanislaus,
Northridge, and San Francisco for 11 subject areas of business topics and general education.

1B. Which General Education student learning outcomes were assessed? These do not need to have
been taught in GE courses. Please refer to the LEAP learning model available at

2. Briefly describe how these outcomes are linked to CSULB's Institutional learning
outcomes (http://www.csulb.edu/divisions/aa/assessment/institutional_objective.html).
1. Well-prepared with communication, numeracy and critical thinking skills to successfully
join the workforce of California and the world or to pursue advanced study
-CBA has assessed the learning outcome of International/Global which is directly linked
to CSULB’s learning outcomes as stated above.
2. Critically and ethically engaged in global and local issues:
-CBA has assessed the learning outcome of Ethics which is directly linked to CSULB’s
learning outcomes as stated above.
3. Knowledgeable and respectful of the diversity of individuals, groups, and cultures
-CBA has assessed the learning outcome of Global which is directly linked to CSULB’s
learning outcomes as stated above.
4. Skilled in collaborative problem-solving, research, and creative activity.
This CSULB instructional learning goal was not assessed.
5. Accomplished at integrating the skills of a liberal education with disciplinary or
professional competency

- CBA has assessed the learning outcome of the disciplinary areas of 1. Accountancy, 2.
Economics, 3. Finance, 4. Business Law, 5. Management, 6. MIS, 7. Marketing, 8.
Statistics, 9. Supply Chain Management, 10. International/Global, and 11. Ethics which
are directly linked to CSULB’s learning outcomes as stated above
3. How was student learning assessed for each outcome?
CBA used BAT to assess each subject area with a total of 2521 students from 8 participating
CSU campuses. The average scores are illustrated below. Among them, Ethics has the highest
score while Business Law has the lowest.

4. What were the results of the assessment for each learning outcome?
We use the average of 6 other CSU campuses as the benchmark for CBA to compare. 3
out of 11 subjects do not meet the benchmark which are Finance, Supply Chain
Management, and Ethics.
