Math 10-3
Mr. Podolski
WHO: You are the student. The teacher is Mr. Podolski.
WHAT: A math course. Math 10-3 to be specific.
WHERE: Here, in room 104 at St. Andrew’s school.
WHEN: From Tuesday, September 3, 2013 until the second last week of January 2014. Holidays
and P.D. days excepted. Monday to Friday from 8:34am (or a little earlier if you like)
until dismissal, which will usually be around 9:58am.
WHY: Because math is awesome. Because to graduate from High School in Alberta, you must
complete one of: Math 20-1, Math 20-2, or Math 20-3; and successful completion of
Math 10-3 leads to Math 20-3. For a Certificate of High School Achievement, you must
complete Math 10-3.
Are you in the right place?
You should be taking this course if you didn’t pass grade 9 math, you didn’t pass math 10C, or if
you don’t plan on going to college or university.
If you passed Math 10C, or scored 60% or higher in grade 9 math, you probably shouldn’t take
this course.
Other Information:
To earn credits in a senior high school course, a student must achieve a grade of 50% or
greater. (That means you need a 50% to pass)
This course is designed to: give you the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills
identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. But not
all trades programs accept this course.
