Math 10-3 Mr. Podolski WHO: You are the student. The teacher is Mr. Podolski. WHAT: A math course. Math 10-3 to be specific. WHERE: Here, in room 104 at St. Andrew’s school. WHEN: From Tuesday, September 3, 2013 until the second last week of January 2014. Holidays and P.D. days excepted. Monday to Friday from 8:34am (or a little earlier if you like) until dismissal, which will usually be around 9:58am. WHY: Because math is awesome. Because to graduate from High School in Alberta, you must complete one of: Math 20-1, Math 20-2, or Math 20-3; and successful completion of Math 10-3 leads to Math 20-3. For a Certificate of High School Achievement, you must complete Math 10-3. Are you in the right place? You should be taking this course if you didn’t pass grade 9 math, you didn’t pass math 10C, or if you don’t plan on going to college or university. If you passed Math 10C, or scored 60% or higher in grade 9 math, you probably shouldn’t take this course. Other Information: To earn credits in a senior high school course, a student must achieve a grade of 50% or greater. (That means you need a 50% to pass) This course is designed to: give you the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. But not all trades programs accept this course.
