Yogalates - A class that reinforces flexibility, core-strength & stability, combining the very best of Yoga + Pilates! Designed to keep you energized and enthused, the class brings body, mind and soul into perfect harmony. Scratch - is an introduction to computer programming that allows users to create games and digital content that can be published on the internet. As such it probably appeals most to younger kids i.e. KS2/3 but I am happy to take anybody who does not have any prior programming experience. A student run and organized society to do something and change the world through charity and raising awareness" String Ensemble - only for advanced string-players and by invitation only German native speakers - It is a German course for native speakers who are a member of the German Society. We follow the German syllabus for Grammar, Orthography and some Literature and we have a look at cultural and traditional aspects of Germany. Running club - A club aimed at students ranging from those wishing to have a healthier body & mind, through to athletes who are keen to improve their current racing times. Expect up to 30 minutes of running per session per week, with varying; pace, elevation and gait ! French Club - organizing events, cooking, discussions based on a film or book (extracts read in French), songs.... Uplands Singers additional information All secondary years with an enthusiasm for singing and music are invited to be members of Uplands Singers. An ability to read music is helpful, but enthusiasm and musicality are more important. Students must take an audition at the beginning of term, where they will be required to perform any piece of your choice, and to take some basic singing exercises to test intonation and musicality. Please see Miss Thomas as soon as possible at the beginning of term. Current members and previous members of the Primary Choir need not audition. If you are successful, you will be expected to commit to a full year’s membership of the choir, as well as to regular performances both in and out of school. Computer programming and entrepreneurship workshop This workshop is an integration of computer programming and business skills. Students are challenged to develop a product that satisfies an identified market demand with their programming skills. Only students who achieved KS Level 7 is qualified to apply (refer to Term 2 ICT Reports and grades). A Maximum of ten students will be accepted this term. The” 20/30” advance IT workshop - The students will practice and drill their computer skills including (1) HTML script writing; (2) Website authoring, (3) Data Base construction and (4) Programming using Logo language. The students’ learning objective is to be able to complete 20 tasks or scripting within 30 minutes. Guitar Club and Chinese Choir. The working and teaching language of this ECA will be exclusively Mandarin Chinese. To be eligible students must be able to play at least 5 guitar chords or want to learn Chinese through singing.
