Matthew 5-Burzinski 5/29/12 Language Arts Coming to America Albert Einstein He may be the most brilliant man known in American history. Many citizens of the U.S.A. know the name of this extraordinary man, but they say: “Hey that guy created the light bulb,” or “He was a famous biologist;” neither of them is correct. This is a man who protected his notes more than his life, a man so intelligent that he solved a problem that people didn’t have half an idea of what it was or meant. This man’s name is Albert Einstein. Let us start with controversy. He didn’t have much against him; the only thing was that he made was the atomic bomb that was used by America against Japan. The Japanese ambassador was very mad at him for the destruction. People in America were happy about the bombings in Japan. This is because this was soon after Pearl Harbor. Americans were happy that Japan was bombed. Albert loved America and he hated his own country, Germany. He hated Germany because everything that people thought was amusing was war and death. Albert hated it, so he moved to America were it was more peaceful. However, when he did that, he left his notes in his house, and when the Germans took over that area and they found the notes. They took it to a scientist and he understood how to make such a weapon. To them it was time to bomb America. Albert realized he left his notes at home and was for sure that the Germans reached the notes. He knew that he had to warn America. But, how could he? He decided when he was interviewed he would tell American government. Albert moved to America because in Germany it was a 24 hour 7 days a week war zone. One of the things that persuaded him to move was a very dangerous toxin called mustard gas, an acid grenade that rots the victim inside and out. It rots the lungs and burns the skin and the pain is unbearable. He had to leave his son in Germany because the Germans enforced a law that stated all teens must go into war or they will be executed in front of their family. In 1933 he moved to Princeton, NJ, then moved to NYC were he chose to live in a small apartment. His quotes were the most striking of all and some of his famous quotes that were written included: “My mind is my laboratory.” This means that he doesn’t need a lab to do experiments, he can just think about the conclusion. “Knowledge is limited but imagination encircles the world.” This means that you don’t have to know everything you just have to imagine it. Lastly “I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination.” This means you don’t have to create things in the real world you can imagine them too. I chose Albert because he created the atomic bomb and he played an important role in World War II. He made famous quotes that I explained before. He was a famous genius known in many different parts of the world. He was of German heritage and so am I. He had many career milestones. First, he solved the complicated equation e=mc² did you understand that? Next, he created the atom bomb which ended World War II. Thirdly, he found the theory of relativity. Lastly, he found the quantum theory. Some general information about this brilliant man was: He was born: March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany. He came to America in 1933. His education was Princeton University. His hometown was New York City. He was deceased on April 18, 1955 at 76 yrs. old. He died of heart failure. He was married to Mileva Maric until she died, and then married Elsa Lowenthal. He had children with his first wife. This man was brilliant since he was about 3 years old. He dreamed during school about him racing across the universe and what he would see and what he would run into. The teachers suspended him from school. He was a genius that took after his father. His father was an electrician that created colored lights. This man was a true mastermind from surviving a war to accidently creating one and solving a problem that no one understood. He founded relativity to having the guts to leave his sons behind for their safety in Germany before immigrating to America. He was one very extraordinary man and he never gave up on anything. To playing with a nuclear reactor tube, to surviving a strong, and highly poisonous gas in a bombing that he needed medical attention. Never did he give up; he loved the U.S.A and he always did. This well-known American name is Albert Einstein.
