You will be registering for classes on a system called WebReg. WebReg
is UCI’s secured internet response registration system that allows you
to enroll in classes from anywhere in the world using your UCInet ID
and password.

• I get the error message- prerequisite not met.
– You have not met the prerequisite of the course (check your catalogue
or student handbook for course prerequisites)
– You have completed the prerequisite by AP exam, non-UCI course,
petition, or exception to policy.
• WebReg cannot recognize any of these course credits
• You must get an academic counselor of the department that offers the
course to clear you
• For Bren School courses, you must either stop by the Student Affairs office
or call 949-824-5156 to get yourself placed on the prerequisite clearing list

Prerequisite Clearing and You
• The Registrar’s system will not automatically recognize
when prerequisites have been completed outside of the
University. This means that you will need to receive
clearance for many courses before being able to enroll.
• Our office has developed on on-line prerequisite clearing
form that can be accessed 24/7.
• Before your enrollment window opens, look up the prereqs
for the courses you wish to enroll in. If you finished any of
the prereqs outside of UCI, turn in a request for the
courses. https://ugradforms.ics.uci.edu.
• DO NOT put in requests for courses you do not need
clearance for. It creates extra work for us and slows us
down.
