Philosophy Statement
• The foremost expectation of education is to give children the tools they
need to be productive and successful as adults. The tools required are
knowledge, skill and understanding. These three necessities are obtained
in the classroom though reading, the teacher’s demonstration, practice
and critical thinking.
• A child is a sponge, ready to soak up information. Children are naturally
curious and desire to learn. As a learner, I see children as open to all new
things, it is the teacher’s responsibility to teach information in a way that a
child will absorb, retain and apply it.
• I hope that any student that I teach will come away from my class with a
love (or at least respect) for my subject. I hope they will walk away from
my class smarter than when they walked in. I want them to have pushed
themselves to try harder than their best; to advance their best work to a
new higher level. I hope they will feel proud of themselves for taking my
class.
