Biznet dan IIJ Menjalankan Usaha Cloud Bersama di Indonesia
Jakarta, 6 November 2014 – Internet Initiative Japan Inc (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), salah satu
perusahaan Jepang yang merupakan penyedia akses internet dan jaringan yang lengkap, hari ini
mengumumkan telah mencapai sebuah kesepakatan dengan Biznet Networks untuk menjalankan usaha
bersama di Indonesia. IIJ bertujuan untuk meningkatkan layanan Cloud Computing di negara ASEAN. Biznet
Networks (PT. Supra Primatama Nusantara) yang berpusat di Jakarta, merupakan perusahaan
telekomunikasi terkemuka di Indonesia.
Kedua perusahaan ini berencana untuk menjalankan joint venture yang akan dimulai pada pertengahan
December 2014, setelah menyelesaikan prosedur yang dibutuhkan oleh beberapa otoritas terkait.
Perusahaan akan mempromosikan layanan cloud.
1. Latar belakang dan tujuan
Sejak tahun 2011, IIJ Group telah meningkatkan upaya untuk menyediakan layanan cloud di luar negeri. IIJ
Group telah menyediakan layanan cloud di Amerika Serikat, Cina, Eropa dan Singapura. Beberapa tahun
terakhir, Indonesia telah membangun infrastruktur teknologi dengan pesat. Oleh karena itu, terjadi
peningkatan permintaan dibeberapa perusahaan untuk, layanan cloud yang stabil dan berkualitas tinggi.
Partner IIJ, yaitu Biznet, merupakan perusahaan penyedia layanan telekomunikasi dan multimedia yang
merupakan bagian dari MidPlaza Group – pemain utama dalam perekonomian Indonesia yang aktif di bisnis
real estate dan IT. Biznet mempunyai ribuan kilometer jaringan kabel fiber optic, data center, infrastruktur
Cable TV dan aset lainnya. Usaha bersama ini akan memaksimalkan manfaat teknologi dalam membangun
layanan cloud dan operasi know-how yang IIJ Group telah kembangkan selama beberapa tahun, begitu juga
dengan infrastruktur jaringan Biznet yang kuat dan berbasis pelanggan untuk meluncurkan layanan yang
kompetitif. Dengan demikian, kerjasama antara IIJ dan Biznet bertujuan untuk mendapatkan bagian besar
dari emerging market Indonesia pada tahap awal.
2. Garis Besar Bisnis
Usaha bersama ini diharapkan untuk memulai dengan USD 6 juta (60% dari Biznet dan 40% dari IIJ). Ini
akan membangun infrastruktur layanan cloud baru di Indonesia dan akan menawarkan layanan cloud publik
dan pribadi untuk perusahaan lokal. IIJ akan menyediakan teknologi cloud, dukungan operasional, dan
kontribusi lainnya. Kontribusi Biznet meliputi pemasaran untuk pasar Indonesia, operasi sehari-hari, dan
menangani bisnis usaha domestik. IIJ dan Biznet memperkirakan bisnis ini akan menghasilkan pendapatan
tahunan sama dengan sekitar USD 10 juta setelah tiga tahun layanan diluncurkan. Nama perusahaan usaha
bersama, pusat bisnis, managing director, dan rincian lainnya akan diputuskan oleh parent company di
kemudian hari.

IIJ and Biznet to Run Joint Cloud Venture in Indonesia
Jakarta, 6 November 2014 – Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's
leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that it has
reached an agreement with Biznet Networks (Biznet) to establish a joint venture in Indonesia. IIJ aims to
improve upon existing cloud services in the ASEAN region. Biznet Networks (Indonesian name: PT. Supra
Primatama Nusantara) is headquartered in Jakarta. It is a major communications services company in the
Indonesian market.
The two companies plan to establish the joint venture company and to begin operations in mid-December
2014 after completing the procedures required by the relevant authorities. The new company will promote
the use of cloud services.
1. Background and objectives
Since 2011, IIJ Group has stepped up its efforts to provide cloud services overseas. The group already offers
cloud services in the United States, China, Europe, and Singapore. In recent years, Indonesia has been
building IT infrastructure at a rapid pace. Due to this factor, there is increasing demand among companies
for high-quality, stable cloud services. To take advantage of this market opportunity and to launch an
Indonesian cloud service more rapidly, IIJ decided to deploy the service in cooperation with an influential
local partner.
IIJ's partner Biznet is a telecommunications and multimedia services company that is part of the MidPlaza
group—a major player in the Indonesian economy that is active in the real estate and IT businesses. Biznet
owns thousands of kilometers fiber-optic network, data centers, a cable TV infrastructure, and other assets.
The joint venture will make maximal use of the technologies for building cloud services and the operations
know-how that the IIJ Group has developed over the years—as well as Biznet's robust network
infrastructure and customer base—to launch a highly competitive service. Thus, IIJ and Biznet aim to gain a
large share of the emerging Indonesian market at an early stage.
2. Business outline
The joint venture is expected to launch with USD$6 million in capital (60% from Biznet and 40% from IIJ). It
will build new cloud service infrastructure in Indonesia and will offer public and private cloud services to
local companies. IIJ will provide cloud technologies, operational support, and other contributions. Biznet's
contribution will include lending the prestige it holds in the Indonesian market, conducting day-to-day
operations, and handling the venture's domestic business. IIJ and Biznet forecast that the venture will
create annual revenue equivalent to around USD$10 million after three years of the launch of services. The
joint venture's trade name, headquarters, managing director, and other details will be decided by its two
parent companies at a later date.
IIJ will continue its active promotion of overseas developments. As it does now, it will support the building
of IT infrastructure for customers in Asia by offering high-quality cloud services.
