DS4200 – Make Sure You Know

DS4200 is SATA only and can only expand with EXP420 drive enclosure

You cannot attach an EXP810 to a DS4200

EXP420 will only operate behind a DS4200 controller

You cannot attach a EXP420 to any other DS4000 series product

Drives from EXP420 will not work in any other DS4000 series product

DS4200 is not upgradeable to any other type of DS4000 series product

DS4200 is similar to a DS4700 with regard to architecture and premium features – but no Intermix capability

DS4200 was designed to be a low-cost entry level SMB system

 Replacing DS4100

DS4200 will have Storage Manager management software and will be seen as a DS4200 by other DS4000 series products

DS4200 can be a target device for a DS4800 or DS4700 for DR/BC or secondary storage applications
