Types of Slope
Slope definitions




Positive slope- a line that increases in
height from left to right
Undefined slope- a straight up and down
vertical line in which the slope can not be
determined
Negative slope- a line the decreases in
height from left to right
Zero slope- a line running left to right
horizontally that has a slope of zero
Practice

The slope is
negative 4 over 3
giving a slope of
-4/3
practice

The slope is 4 over
2 which simplifies
to give a slope of 2
Practice

The line is
horizontal which
creates a slope of
zero
Practice

This line is vertical
which means the
slope is undefined
Quiz


What is the slope?
-1


What is the slope?
Undefined


What is the slope?
The slope is 2 over
1 which equals 2



What is the slope?
The slope is zero
because the line is
horizontal
