YOUNG TALENTED LEADERS SCHOLARSHIP
These scholarships are directed at students who stand out both academically and personally, who are
socially aware and responsible and who will pursue one of the following degrees:




Degree in Business Administration (English/Spanish)
Degree in Law (English/Spanish)
Degree in Communication (English)
Degree in Psychology (English)
The Scholarships will cover all tuition fees, transportation and accommodation in Spain for the
selected recipients.
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, IE has decided to go further, by dedicating part of its efforts and
resources to supporting valuable "talent of tomorrow" by way of a General Scholarship Fund for
young leaders of the world. As a result, for the academic year 2014-2015, IE is offering a unique
opportunity for any young person looking to pursue university studies, who possesses high personal
potential and excellent academic qualifications.

Welcome to IE University
The IE Foundation is the Institution in charge of ensuring that scholarships provide selected
students with sufficient financial aid for the duration of their studies at IE (enrollment, tuition,
accommodation, transportation and medical insurance) for their 4 year degree. Students will also
receive a corporate program during the summer months geared towards professional projects and
practices, in conjunction with the General Director of Professional Careers at IE.
The IE University is for students who believe that learning is a way of life and are open to the
transforming role of higher education. IE University is marked by its international campus,
entrepreneurial spirit, pioneering initiatives, and commitment to educate young professionals and
experts for international vocations, with the ability to make a positive impact on society.

The IE University learning environment promotes an international vision, with students and

The IE Foundation is an instrument of IE that enables students, teachers and staff to further their
educational, research and management activities. Priority is given to the training and cultural
outreach of all people and institutions that have ties with IE. Resources go to funding scholarships for
students, grants for training and research for professors, and funds for updating and improving IE’s
state of the art facilities. The Foundation operates throughout Spain, but also has an international
presence throughout North and South America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Northern Africa and
Europe.

Applicant must be of Indonesian or Thai nationality and must be residing in the country of
origin.
Applicant must be in possession of a secondary school diploma (high school diploma) (). In
the case that the diploma is from foreign or private schools, it must be validated by the
Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport before the deadline for submission of applications.
Applicant must have excellent knowledge of the English language (spoken and written)
accredited as requested at the time of application.
Applicant must demonstrate academic excellence: for students with an average GPA of
between 8.5 and 10 or equivalent on their high school diploma.
Justification/Proof of financial need (chose one of the options below) :
a. Last three months proof of payroll for parents or guardians
b. Last year’s tax return for parents or guardians.
c. Other documentation demonstrating financial need.

The organization responsible for management of the selection process is the IE Foundation
The Scholarship committee of the IE Foundation will support the decision of the Selection
Committee which is formed by persons designated by the Admissions Department
At the end of the process, the Selection Committee will publish a list of the selected
recipients, and also a waiting list of applicants. The number of candidates on the waiting list
must not be double the amount of available Scholarships.

The final approval of the Scholarship is subject to admission to IE University for the selected
candidates. If a selected recipient cannot complete admissions to IE University, or cannot
attend, a different recipient will be selected from the waiting list.
Endowment of Scholarships
The endowment of the scholarships will be distributed in the following manner:

Assistance with the flights to and from Madrid
Enrollment and tuition costs and university required medical insurance (insurance for
sickness, accidents for the recipients of the Young Talented Leaders Scholarship excludes
preexisting medical conditions and dentistry)
Allowance for books and school supplies
Applicants should meet all of the requirements, and should also submit any documentation attesting
to the merit of the applicant that has not been previously provided in the admissions process, along
with the scholarship application.
Applications should be submitted either via email or through the website. In order to complete the
application process, a copy of the application should be printed and signed and sent by mail before
the stated deadline.

In 2013, with support from AJE, the IE Foundation is proud to offer 2 full-scholarships to study at IE
University.
These scholarships will cover and include all enrollment and tuition costs, a monthly allowance
(stipend) for housing and accommodation, travel to Spain, and medical insurance for selected
recipients.
These scholarships are directed at students who stand out both academically and personally, who are
socially aware and responsible and who will begin studying at IE University in any of the degrees
offered and be a national of and resident in one of the following countries: Indonesia and Thailand.

Possibility to be extended for each of the following 3 academic years if the awardees
maintains the academic performance required by IE University
3. Scholarship Objective:
Scholarships will be awarded to candidates accepted for admission to one of the following
degree programs (jointly selected by IE University, IE Business School, AJE and IE
Foundation) in the Academic Year 2014 – 2015:
degree in business administration (English/Spanish)
- degree in law (English/Spanish)
- degree in communication (English)
- degree in Psychology (English)

Management of the Grants/Scholarships (Grant Management)
The IE Foundation is responsible for the management of scholarships with the collaboration
of IE University and AJE as a participant in the Committee for Scholarships of the IE
Foundation.

- submit the appropriate application form (available at www.ie.edu/ayudafinanciera) and
duly completed scholarship application to financialaid@ie.edu indicating that you have
selected the “Young Talented Leaders Scholarship” scholarship.
- include two letters of reference/recommendation from professors or chosen persons

- attachments to the previous form with any other evidences of the academic excellence of
the student. If these documents have not already been submitted during the admission
process (curriculum, transcripts, full academic certificate/diploma and title, need not be
send again)

are not available, declaration of their income (last year’s tax return)

Scholarship Selection Process:

Submit the completed scholarship application which is available on
www.ie.edu/financialaid and send it to financialaid@ie.edu indicating that you are
applying for the Young Talented Leaders Scholarship
Include two letters of reference from professors or qualified persons who can attest to
your academic career
Include any other supporting documents which attest to the academic excellence of the
applicant, if these documents have not been sent previously in the admissions process.
Include the last three payroll slips from the parents or guardians or if these are not
available, the last tax return statement
The submission deadline for the completed application is April 15, 2014
Information of the Scholarship Scheme:
A: The procedure for granting of the scholarships will be processed in competitive
concurrence scheme. It will start automatically through call for proposals published in the
«official bulletin of the State», in which related information will be presented. Also will be
published on the web page of IE http://www.ie.edu/, of the IE Foundation and will be
communicated to all IE representation offices.
B: In each announcement the following information as stated in article 23.2 of Law 38/2003
from November 17:
- The number of available scholarships and their length: 2 Scholarships will be available
under the Young Talented Leaders Scholarship program. The length of the scholarships
is for the academic career of the recipient, with the possibility to be extended until the
completion of three additional academic years, if the candidate maintains the minimum
academic requirements of IE University.
- The application forms and information on how to complete and submit the application
- Specific means of notification or publication of the recipients, if applicable

Respond with dedication and meet the academic demands of IE University and the
conditions of the YTL Scholarship provided by IE Foundation and AJE
Send all required forms and applications or reports as requested by the offering
institutions
Remain enrolled in the department in which the recipient is pursuing their studies. Any
request for absence from the Center or to change or modify the project of studies, or to
return temporarily to their country of origin or return before the authorized date,
should be presented at the IE Foundation for prior consideration
If approved, and the fellows are authorized to temporarily leave the department in
which they do their degree, they may continue receiving monthly allocations established
for a maximum period of 30 days.
Present, a report of the results obtained, together with a report from the Academic
Director and official copy of academic certification, as appropriate, to the Scholarship
Committee.
Fellows enrolled in a 4 year degree and benefitting from the YTL Scholarship are
committed to return to their country of origin, for a minimum period of twenty-four
months continued, commencing upon graduation. This commitment will be expressed in
writing prior to the final award of the scholarship.

prior approval from the IE Foundation
