Elluminate Live! (ELive) is a synchronous web tool suitable for online collaboration, classrooms, demonstrations, meetings, web conferences, seminars and IT deployment, training and support. • Moderators control interaction through a set of tools allowing control over participant’s ability to use the microphone, edit the whiteboard, import presentations or documents, message the group, use their webcam and interact with shared applications. Elluminate’s unique ‘Communication Collaboration Framework’ also permits full oversight and management of the performance of each participant’s connection and devices in each session. www.monash.edu 2 Tools Online classrooms and collaboration: • • • • • • • • • • • • • Full-duplex VoIP with individual audio buffering of lagging connections Text chat and direct messaging Video on demand (one-to-many) Object-oriented, interactive whiteboard with text box capability and PPT/PDF import; Application sharing, including full PC access Private breakout rooms with separate VoIP and Whiteboard Polling and quizzes (prepared or ‘on-the-fly’) Guided web tours and URL pushes Multimedia playback (up to 100MB) File transfer (up to 100MB) Interactive recordings with URL links that can be indexed Individual notepad pop-up that synchronises with recordings Session timer/stopwatch www.monash.edu 3 Other general features • • • • Auto Internet reconnection and individual bandwidth management Free Session Administration System (SAS) software for session permissions, set-up, scheduling, invitations, recording and reporting of usage Highly secure connectivity (SSL Protocol Version 3.0) Foreign language versions in 8 languages www.monash.edu 4 Accessibility and Usability • Adheres to Word Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative and two US acts; the Americans Disability Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act, Section 508. – • The system is cross-platform compatible – • Some related features include closed captioning, screen-reader support, user controlled interface layout and application sharing magnifier Windows, MAC, Solaris or Linux The system provides individual bandwidth management (accepts 28.8k connections) and participant status indicators to the moderator www.monash.edu 5 Integration • • • • • Blackboard Building Blocks Blackboard PowerLinks (WebCT) eCollege Course Management System Moodle Course Management System Sakai Collaborative Learning Environment www.monash.edu 6 www.monash.edu 7 Vendor Supported Trial • Elluminate has agreed in writing to a free, no obligation ASP hosted trial for Monash University during Semester 2 2007 • Unlimited general use for meetings and collaboration will also be allowed, this will be available prior to the commencement of Semester 2 2007 • The trial will be facilitated through Yellow Edge, Elluminate Global’s partner in Australia and New Zealand • Elluminate will host the technology required for the trial from Calgary, Canada, including their Session Administration System (SAS) for user management.
