Mrs. McConaughy Click here to compare calculators. 2010-2011 Open House 6 Grading Nine weeks’ grades will be based upon the following: Our Grading Scale Exams mathematics students will AnnouncedAll Quizzes 92-100% =A be administered cumulative Daily Warm-Up 83-91% =B nine weeks’ exams. Cumulative nine averaged Quizzes week exam scores will be 74-82% =C to determine respective 65-73% =D Homeworkmidterm and final semester exam =F Class Work/Boardscores. Below 65% Work Cumulative mid-term and final Special Projects exams, each contributing 5% of a student’s final grade, will be (Group/Individual) Grades are posted online and updated daily. Mrs. McConaughy administered at the end of the 2nd and 4th nine weeks. 2010-2011 Open House 7 Exams Mrs. McConaughy Major tests will be given at the end of each chapter, and occasionally, in the middle of a chapter as well. ALL exams will be announced a minimum of one week in advance of being administered. Study guides are typically provided. 2010-2011 Open House 8 Homework As this is a challenging course intended for the college-bound student, students are assigned homework on a daily basis. Homework can be checked in the following ways: Completion check Accuracy Daily warm-up quiz* Mrs. McConaughy 2010-2011 Open House 9 Daily Warm-Up Quiz At the beginning of every class period, students are provided with five (5) minutes to independently answer as many as five (5) questions. Questions will closely resemble previously completed homework problems or sample problems from class notes. Notebooks and completed homework assignments may be used as references. Calculator usage is permitted. Warm-ups, worth 5 possible points each, are collected and graded on a random basis approximately ten times during each grading period. Mrs. McConaughy 2010-2011 Open House 10 Participation Students are encouraged to attend class daily and to participate regularly. Regular participation is evidenced by the following behaviors: - Completing and submitting assignments on time. - Asking/answering questions in class. - Bringing necessary materials to class daily. - Requesting extra help when necessary. - Participating in class/group work. Tutoring is available Activity bus every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45transportation is provided to Extra Help 4:15 p.m. in the intermediate high students who attend after school library. school On-site math tutors tutoring. are available daily during periods 1-8. Tutoring rooms are posted in each mathematics classroom. Students are responsible for requesting a pass to leave their regularly scheduled study hall to attend tutoring. I am available for extra help during pd 1. Students with no study halls are encouraged to attend after-school tutoring in the SVSH.
