Project Description:
This project is concerned with understanding the technical as well as functional
aspect of Credit Card Management System. PAYSYS Inc has developed the product
VISIONPLUS or Credit Card Management System. GECF had purchased the product
for implementing it at their various business locations and SATYAM was identified to
provide third party services to them. The services include customizations, enhancements,
production and application support, QA testing, UAT etc.
Project is about an integrated on-line Credit Card Management System. It comprises of
various application modules of which Credit Management System (CMS), Interchange
tracking System (ITS), Collection Tracking System (CTA) & Transaction Management
System (TRAMS) are main modules. This project is implemented using CICS, VSAM,
JCL, and COBOL.
Work Process:
 I have worked for GE Swiss Production and Application support. The activity
involved resolving production problems quickly and efficiently, Scheduling UAT
batches, providing permanent fixes to the abends, coordinating with data center
for scheduling and coordinating with business to prevent the abends, giving
solutions, testing them and moving to production. Coordinated with third party for
system upgrade and for major implementations.
As a Shift lead I have to handle the below tasks.





o I have to review all the deliverables based on client requirements being
prepared in my shift
Resolution of Issues
Had to resolve issues whenever faced. I had to resolve the critical issues
instantaneously so that it doesn’t adversely effect the funcitonong of Clients
business critical applications.
Analysis of batches
As a value addition to client systems I analyse the batch and come up with
cost and time saving ideas. These help me in adding value to me as well as to
the team.
Mentoring
I train juniors on all the tasks related to the shift and client applications.
Activities Performed:
As a team member I support and responsible for
 Providing permanent fixes to the Application related problems and to batch
abends.
 Support change requests.
 Running SIT, UAT batches. Resolving issues.
 Involved in giving Knowledge Transfer to juniors.
 Assist team members in solving difficult abends in case those are out of their
reach.
 Giving total 24 X 7 on call support to production batch.
 Involved in Batch tuning activities.
 Monitoring production, UAT batches. Resolving abends during production batch
run.
 Testing permanent fixes in Development region and implementing them in
Production batch.
 Documentation of processes like Root Cause Analysis of abends and source code
management for fixes, Batch Status Reporting and Using Kintana tool.
 Monitoring File Storage system and Re-organizing the files whenever required.
