POST:
ASSESSOR/REVIEWER – ENGINEERING
RESPONSIBLE TO:
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – PROJECTS & APPRENTICESHIPS
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To deliver, assess and review Apprentice training programmes up to NVQ Level III or equivalent within
the subject area of Engineering and to assist in the marketing of Apprentice programmes to industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
To assess and review apprentices/ trainees in accordance with internal and external requirements
primarily by assessment in the workplace up to NVQ Level III or equivalent.
2.
To assist in the review and progress of apprentices/trainees.
3.
To liaise with the Curriculum Team Manager/Assistant Director – Projects & Apprenticeships to coordinate the delivery and completion of all parts of the Apprentice Framework including Functional
Skills and Technical Certificate.

To assist the Curriculum Team Manager/Assistant Director – Projects & Apprenticeships in the
promotion of such programmes up to NVQ Level III or equivalent.
5.
To assist with organisation/administration duties related to training programmes up to NVQ Level
III or equivalent.
6.
To maintain appropriate learner records.
7.
To assist the Curriculum Team Manager/Assistant Director – Projects & Apprenticeships in
obtaining placements, and to monitor the suitability of such placements in terms of relevance,
health and safety and welfare.

8.
To assist with recruitment, enrolment and induction of programmes.
9.
To maintain effective relationships between academic and support staff and provide a
communication link between industry and department managers.
10.
To undertake Health & Safety checks in the workplace and maintain records.
11.
To undertake a minimum of 30 hours (pro rata) continual professional development.
12.
