Student Brief
PROJECT INTRODUCTION
As part of the course you are required to do an extended essay of 1000 words. A first
draft of 500 words + 4 references (10%) and the final paper +500 words more and 2
more references (20%).
Your project will count for 30% of your grade. It is both a research report and an
argument essay.

Due dates:
Late papers will be penalized.
What makes a company a good employer? Describe work place characteristics
(besides salaries and long vacations) that attract and retain good employees. You
may consider factors such as flex time, autonomy at work, management opportunities,
education support and so on. Give some examples of high quality employers in the
UAE and the rest of the world and explain why they can be called good employers.
Provide references where needed.

can also use websites or online data bases (e.g. Electric Library,
Proquest, and Lexis-Nexis)

APA format
An example of referencing using the APA format style:
Three Aircraft
The seating capacity of the Boeing 787 is 210 to 250. The range of the 787 is 7,650 to 8,200
nautical miles and it has a cruise speed of .85 mach (Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner - Fact Sheet).
This contrasts with the seating capacity of the Airbus A380 which is an astounding 560
passengers in three classes. The cruising speed for the airbus is .89 mach and also has a range
of 8,200 nautical miles (Specifications Airbus A380). Neither aircraft, however, however
compares in speed to the concord which could fly at mach 1.4 (Clandinin, D. & Connelly, F.,
2000).
