ON MOTION by Alicia Vargas and seconded by Ivette Rosas, the committee voted unanimously to approve as modified the
addition of the new noncredit disciplines GRDN, HLTN, HSPN, and OESN. The discipline CULN was removed as an option.
ON MOTION by Katie Datko and seconded by Judy Ohye, the committee voted unanimously to approve the addition of the
Pre-Apprenticeship in Building Trades and Construction – Bilingual Certificate of Competency.

includes training in installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server
operating system networking services and Windows client operating system features in a networked environment.

digital materials. Students will gain practical experience using industry standards in order to prepare them for entering
the workforce.

Rationale: The Certificate went from 11.5 units to 8 units. We were required to remove the 0.5 unit lecture from the LIB
126 Digitization Internship. Also, we changed BIT 025 from a required course to one way to meet a prerequisite.

The Pre-Apprenticeship in Building Trades and Construction Industry-Bilingual program provides bilingual students with
the essential skills and workforce preparation needed for careers in the building trades and construction industry. The
curriculum also prepares students for a pathway to credit construction programs. Bilingual students gain knowledge in
reading construction plans, material handling equipment, green construction, interpreting trade technical calculations,
and practicing safety construction techniques according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
standards.
Rationale: The Pre-Apprenticeship in Building Trades and Construction Industry-Bilingual Certificate of Completion is an
addition to the existing Pre-Apprenticeship in Building Trades and Construction Industry Certificate of Completion. The

learner population. Pasadena City College's Noncredit Division is adding the bilingual certificate to serve its bilingual
(English/Spanish) adult population.

TVR – TELEVISION PRODUCTION – Certificate of Achievement
The curriculum prepares students to work in various areas of broadcasting and electronic media. Course work covers
basic aspects of audio and video production, post-production principles, and writing for commercial, educational and
cable companies. Practical internships are offered in professional facilities, including commercial and public broadcast
companies, cable television, post-production and production companies.
Students are prepared for such positions as production assistants, production coordinators, associate directors, stage
managers, researchers, programmers, camera operators, technical directors, and editors.
A Certificate of Achievement is awarded upon completion of all required courses with a grade of C or better.

Rationale: The certificate is being updated to keep pace with entertainment industry practices. The title is being changed
to reflect the broader employment landscape for which it trains students. TVR 012 and 014A are radio courses that have
