Coastal ISC is holding its 10th annual Spring Forum, AGM and Field Tour on June 12th 2015 at the the
Deep Bay Marine Field Station to discuss Action Against Double Jeopardy: Climate Change and
Invasive Species. The morning kicks off with hands-on field tours to visit some exciting restoration
projects where we will practice plant identification, and learn about saltmarsh and eel grass restoration
and Spartina patens (intertidal cordgrass) control trials. Several interesting speakers are lined up for
the afternoon including Dr. Olaf Niemann who will talk about about using remote sensing to map and
monitor invasive species. Dr. Neimann is the newly appointed BC Leadership Chair in Hyperspectral
Remote Sensing at the University of Victoria. The full agenda is available

The ISCMV will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 16th, 2015 at the Richmond Cultural
Centre Performance Hall located at 7700 Minoru Gate in Richmond from 1pm-4pm.
This year, the AGM will be run along with a Regional Strategy Implementation Workshop where we will be
reviewing parts of the Regional Invasive Species Strategy for Metro Vancouver and discussing priorities for
implementation including getting Charter signatures, proposed funding models to support implementation, and
discussing which parts of the strategy we could begin implementing in the near future.
The AGM this year will not be held in conjuction with a forum as has been done traditionally. This year will be
the AGM and Regional Strategy Implementation Workshop only. Coffee and snacks will be provided.
