The test is out of 45 marks:
10 short answer questions on world affairs
23 Multiple choice questions on Fall of New France/American Revolution
12 marks for 2 paragraph responses out of 6 marks each (marked on the 6 scale), in which
you will analyse/compare and contrast/explain/describe/interpret significance of major
events/people/trends/battles etc… You will have 3 choices, and you must pick 2 of the 3.
The following list is not exhaustive, but here are pretty much all of the terms, important facts and events
you should understand (not all will appear on the 45-mark test):
**Geography:
 Know what North America looked like (territorial control, major waterways [St. Lawrence River],
major population centres) from early 1600s to the 1783 Treaty of Paris.
 Know the 5 colonies of New France: Acadia, Newfoundland, Louisiana, Hudson Bay, Canada
 Know the 13 colonies of British America (before the Revolution)
 Know the territorial control of Louisiana
 Know about the expulsion and flight of the Acadians and that Acadia became Nova Scotia.

Some British Intolerable/Coercive Acts in response to the Boston Tea Party and
other rebel actions, which contributed to the American Revolution:
Boston Port Act 31 March 1774: Closed the port of Boston until the East India
Company had been compensated for its losses, the injured customs officers had been
compensated for their injuries, and until King George III deemed that peace was
sufficiently restored and trade could be resumed
Massachusetts Government Act 20 May 1774: Forbade town meetings except by the
written consent of the colony's British governor
Quartering Act 2 June 1774: It forced the colonists to provide quarters (room and
board) in their homes for British soldiers
Quebec Act 16 June 1774: Which extended the Canadian border southward to the
Ohio River eliminating the colonies claim to the land
