Dear Ursuline Educator,
On behalf of Ursuline Educational Services (UES), I am pleased to send you this letter of
invitation to attend our first Global Education Conference. This gathering of Ursuline
educators from all points of the globe will take place June 15-20, 2014 in the United States
at the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York. UES is pleased to provide this
opportunity for collaboration among Ursuline educators from around the world.
The program for the UES sponsored Global Education Conference will begin Sunday
evening, June 15 with registration and our initial gathering – Inseime Each morning of that
week we will gather as a full Assembly to hear a speaker and to engage in dialogue. During
the afternoons, we will offer interest group sessions. The conference closes with a
celebratory luncheon on Friday. Evening activities are also an integral part of the program.
There is one free evening – Thursday, June 19 to give participants the opportunity to go into
New York City, which is 30 minutes from New Rochelle by commuter train.
Accommodations will be in the dormitories of the College of New Rochelle. Both double
occupancy and single rooms are available. There is an additional charge for a single room.
The dormitories are not air-conditioned, but fans will be provided. The cost of
accommodations (double occupancy room) is included in your registration fee. The rooms
are available from Sunday, June 15 through Friday, June 20 until 2:00 PM. If you arrive on
Saturday, June 14 or plan to stay Friday night, June 20 in the dormitory, there will be an
extra charge. A double occupancy room is an additional $60 per night and a single room is
$75 per night. With the exception of Thursday night when you can opt to go into New York
City, all meals will be provided.
The fee for each participant at the conference is $725. This fee covers the cost of the
conference, room and board Sunday night through Friday noon, tours of two local Ursuline
schools and an evening cruise around Manhattan Island.
If you prefer to stay in an air-conditioned room at a local hotel, you may contact Doreen
Lucero, Director of Sales at The Residence Inn by Marriott at 35 Le Count Place in New
Rochelle, NY to make a reservation. Call 914.509.7841 or email:
newrochelledos@ih-corp.com.

The registration form will also be available on the UES website at www.ursuline-education.com. If you
complete the form on line, you will have to mail the payment to the UES office (address above). Once
we have received your registration form and payment, you will receive confirmation of your
registration by email to the address you list on the form.
There will be no refunds once payment has been made.
Please note the space on the Registration Form where you can let us know what topics you would like
to discuss with the other Ursuline educators. What collective wisdom would the delegation from your
school like to share? We will schedule times during the conference for this to occur.
We also ask that you bring a symbol of your school - perhaps a banner or a picture or a flagsomething that one of your school’s delegation can carry as part of our opening ritual. These
items will then be displayed around our assembly meeting room. We will be asking some of
you to help prepare our daily opening prayer so that the prayers represent the worldwide
Ursuline network.
The Planning Committee and the Board of Ursuline Educational Services are eagerly anticipating this
worldwide gathering of Ursuline educators. We hope that you will plan to attend.
If you have questions about the conference, please send an email to Judy Wimberg at
jwimberg@ursuline-education.com or contact one of the members of the Planning Committee.
Sincerely,
Judith Wimberg
