Background
The CAR tool displays two name fields for merchants on the “Merchant
Information” sub tab on the Card Data tab. These fields are called
“Merchant Name1” and “Merchant Name2”. Depending on the merchant,
these two name fields can be exactly the same, similar or completely
different. Here are some examples.
1.“American Bread Co LLC” uses “Panera Bread” as its Merchant Name 2.
2.“Starbucks Corporation” uses “Starbucks 5379” as its Merchant Name 2
to represent a specific store location.
Some merchants choose to add a different name for its Merchant Name 2
to differentiate either a geographic location or a different store location. In
the past, you could only search on “Merchant Name 1” using the search
icon. We have added the ability to search on “Merchant Name 2” using the
search icon.
This presentation will show you how to use this new option.

Tips
Here are some useful Tips to use when Searching:
 Remember you can save your favorite searches
 You can search with multiple qualifiers, just remember that your results
will show everything that meets all qualifiers. For example, if you want to
search on all transactions with a merchant name of “ABC” and under
$100. Your results will be only transactions that meet both of those
criteria, its “and,” not “or.”
 If you are importing data files from third party systems, POs/BTA/m360,
then you will have a third name field.

Notes
If you want to see a field as a column header, you’ll need to customize your
Card Data List options.
