Things you need to know before beginning • This directory is not perfect. It does have it’s limitations. It is detailed to give you a lot of exposure. There are quite a few steps so be patient. It’s for your benefit. • Your User Id and password is not the same as it is to register for events or if you joined under the old system. For events, you will continue to use your email address and password that you registered when you first joined (old membership). Your User Id for the directory was sent to you by email. It is your first and last name with no spaces & capitalized both first and last name. Example: JanMurphy • Please do not ask to change anything because the format & the directory is a set theme. There is no customization allowed. • Play with it. Get familiar with it. Use it. • This directory is the best on the market for a membership organization. It’s SEO is second to none. • You get one listing. If you have multiple businesses, you will have 2 choices: Purchase a separate retail business listing for $95.00 or add it to your current business profile. You will not get any more categories that exceed your membership options with one business listing. • If you are a new member, I need you to email your headshot to me. When you upload images, it does not save them in the media file on the website. My email address is womensbusinessbureau@gmail.com. Welcome to the business directory! Click on the login at the top of the page • Click on the login button at the top of the directory page. It will take you to the login page. Most likely if you have already been in your listing already, it will remember you, just click on the login button. • If you are entering for the first time, you need to change your password. Put in your username(First & Last name, no spaces-use capital letters: JanMurphy) or the one you set for yourself if you already registered on the directory (User names cannot be changed), click on reset password. Do not enter any password information if you are wanting to change it. Leave the password blank, hit reset password. If you are logging in for the first time, you must reset your password first. Put your user name as assigned to you, skip the password section, click on reset password. You will be sent a link to change it. Once you do this, you will login using your User ID and password. In most cases, it will save your password and user id. It’s either going to prompt you for your user ID & password or it’s automatically saved next time you try to log in. NEVER USE REGISTER! Once you are logged in, there are two sections you need to complete (screen on next slide) • My Account details-this is your member profile section where your headshot goes. Members will communicate with you there. • My Website listing-this is the business listing portion where the public sees the listings in each category. • Both sections must be completed. There are two sections because members have requested that they have access to members to communicate with them. This takes the place of an excel member list because members were spamming members. Many members have privately requested that they not be placed on members newsletters or invited to private events. Members emails are not published for a reason. Next screen will show you what you will see: Once you login, you will see this screen Let’s start with the member section first • Click on My Account details first-this is what you will see when you click on it: Bottom portion: Display photo is where your headshot goes. Save it and then it will upload. Once you have completed all of the these sections that are applicable to you, you have completed the Member Profile section. Now it’s time to complete your business listing. Click back to the dashboard by using the back button or using the browser back button. You are back to the main screen. Click on My Website Listing to complete the business listing. You will see your listing (it will be your name usually)-click on your name Click on your name After you click on your name, you will see this screen- click on Edit this listing After clicking on Edit this listing-you will see 5 sections • Listing Description-Your title should be your first & last name, complete your business description as you want the public to see • Listing Category-choose your category based on the best fit(Professional members 1, Executive 2, Corporate 3) • Listing Details-Company name, website link, telephone #, etc. • Listing Location-your address for google maps • Listing Attachments-upload your logo here. You can add your headshot & other images. It will accept documents here as well. When you click to edit your listing, this is what you see: Be sure to list all of your keywords. This is very important. It’s not for the search in the directory but it is for the SEO for google and the other search engines. This is at the end of the page-complete all sections as applicable. Listing attachments is where you upload your logo, headshot, & other images. Be sure to hit save. It will not save automatically. Congratulations! Thank you! You are done!
