Tabulky, Praha: ČVUT, Fakulta stavební, 2006 (in Czech Language) Course Outline 3 Introduction. Descriptive statistics for one sample. Boxplot, outliers. Descriptive statistics for two samples. Introduction to linear regression. Introduction to probability theory. Classical probability assessment. Conditional probability. Independence of events. Discrete random variables. Expected value and variance. Binomial distribution with applications. Continuous random variables. Expected value and variance. Normal probability distribution with applications. Statistical inference. Course Outline 4 During the exam: You must be able to use a scientific calculator equipped with statistical formulas for correlation and regression. You will have to use copies of statistical tables. You may use any other textbook. You cannot use laptops, cameras, mobile phones, and any other means of communications. You must show how did you find your results – it is not acceptable to write only numerical answers. In case you use a scientific calculator write all formulas used for deriving the answers. Course Outline 5 Statistical part of the exam lasts 30 minutes, consists of 2 examples (sometimes not equally weighted) with total weight of 12 points. So as to pass the exam you must earn at least 6 points. Further details: mat.fsv.cvut.cz/jirasko/ Course Outline 6
