Mature Third-Generation Mobile Data Terminal TREK-773
Refined with 10 Years of Domain Knowledge
Taipei, Taiwan, June 12th 2015 - Advantech, a leading mobile computing platform provider, is
pleased to announce TREK-773 – the third-generation successor to the widely adopted TREK-753 mobile
data terminal. The release of the original TREK-743 all-in-one mobile data terminal coincided with
Advantech’s move into the digital logistics and fleet management market. Now, over 10 years later,
based on our extensive accumulation of domain knowledge, we are proud to announce the mature,
third-generation mobile data terminal TREK-773. Equipped with an Intel® Atom™ E3826
system-on-chip (SoC) and specifically designed to withstand the challenges of extreme in-vehicle
environments, TREK-773 complies with the MIL-STD-810G and 5M3 specifications for shock/vibration
resistance, making it ideal for on-road vehicle applications, long-haul utility fleets, as well as public
safety and heavy duty vehicles. Built-in GPS, AGPS, Bluetooth, WLAN, and WWAN modules facilitate data
transmissions, and real-time communication to enable remote management. An embedded CAN
controller supports the dual CAN Bus interface for vehicle status and diagnostics monitoring and external
CAN device management. Compatible with ISO7637-2 and SAE-J1113- certified 12/24 V vehicle power,
the robust fanless system supports a wide DC 6 ~ 32 V power input range and features programmable
intelligent vehicle power management technology (ignition on/off, delay on/off, and low battery monitor)
that protects against electrical noise, surges, and damage from transient voltage.

Rugged, All-In-One, Industrial-Grade Solution
TREK-773 features an Intel® Atom™ E3826 SoC processor and
ruggedized industrial-grade chassis that ensure a wide operating
temperature range (-30 ~ 60 °C) and 5M3-compliant shock and
vibration tolerance. Upgraded to IK-06 with chemically strengthened
ITO glass, the 7" wide viewing angle touchscreen panel is capable of
withstanding a 1Joul impact from a steel ball. The IP54-certified I/O
cover protects not only the rich I/O but also the cable attachments and
connectors from water and dust. The cables are further protected by
routing around the base of the unit, and a solid rubber seal holds the
housing tight to the device. This ensures that the platform is
sufficiently robust and reliable for use in harsh environments.
Comprehensive Platform with a Wide Range of Functions
To fulfill system integrators’ needs and in keeping with market trends, TREK-773 is equipped with near
field communication (NFC) technology for driver identification, CAN Bus for vehicle diagnostics, GPS for
location monitoring, as well as 4G LTE to facilitate real-time data transfers without signal restriction. An
SMA connector provides a flexible antenna phase as either a dipole or external antenna type. For
TREK-773, the antenna design is a combined diploe and external antenna, which effectively enhances
GPS, WLAN, and WWAN signals and improves data transfers and real-time communication. TREK-773
also supports video camera surveillance for driver behavior management and video-in for real-time rear
view monitoring. Like its predecessor TREK-753, TREK-773 can be easily paired with various peripheral
devices. The wide range of functions supported as well as the robust and rugged design make TREK-773
suitable for use in a broad range of vehicles, particularly trucks and heavy goods vehicles.

Over the past 10 years, and based on direct industry feedback, Advantech continued to refine its original
