S&S Industries… A profile
For over fifty years, S&S Industries has been an integral source of underwires for many bra
manufacturers and retailers. Today, we are suppliers of high quality bra accessory products.
We hold sixty patents and can offer the latest technology and creativity to match the most
innovative design.
Managed by a highly experienced management team, we have grown substantially and
broadened our offerings to the intimate apparel industry. Founded in 1946 in New York, we
invented the flat underwire, which is used worldwide in all bras today. We introduced the soft
plastic cushion tips in 1969. In 1999, we diversified into rings/slides and closures with the
acquisition of ADS/Marlin Plastics, Long Island City, NY. Then beginning in 2000, we embarked
on a global manufacturing and sales presence. We have four manufacturing facilities: two in
the US, one in Honduras, and one in China. These are complemented by a sales, distribution
and agent network in several countries.
We have cultivated strong relationships with the intimate apparel design community in all
geographic areas. We work closely with this community to develop and supply innovative wire
designs using internally designed and built state-of-the-art machines.
We have developed proprietary sources of raw materials that enable us to provide products with
the highest quality and performance. Our affiliation with Georgia Institute of Technology,
Atlanta, GA, facilitates our ongoing initiatives in materials and product development.
