Journalism Program
Attention Juniors who are interested in

This program is now accepting applicants for its
summer 2015 enrollment. The program is
intended for low-income students with
excellent academic records.

The Sallie Southall Cotten
Scholarship
• The Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship is awarded
each year to an outstanding graduate of an
accredited North Carolina High School who will be
attending any of the state-supported universities.
• The candidate is judged on several qualifications that
include scholastic record, intellectual promise, and
demonstration of ambition, leadership ability and
the need for financial assistance. Copies of the
application are available from Mrs.Conner and
are due to the local chair by no later than Jan.

Aspiring Fashion Professional
Scholarship
• The Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship is a
$1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to
students that are interested in pursuing a fashion
degree at an accredited post-secondary or
college. Interested students can visit

located at the bottom of the page. Deadline to
apply is June 1, 2015.
Charlotte “Queen City” Chapter
• The Charlotte “Queen City” Chapter of North
Carolina Agriculture and Technical State
University Alumni Association has established a
scholarship program for the student(s) attending
North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State
University. There will four $500 awards to
incoming freshman. All applications must be
received by March 31st to be considered for this
scholarship. Students must has a GPA of 3.0 and

Scholarship

Mel Hughes Scholarship Fund
• Allegacy Federal Credit Union is pleased to offer
scholarship opportunities for its members. The
annual Mel Hudges Scholarship Fund is available to

four year college or university or community/
technical school. To be eligible, a student must be a
