NATIVITY NEWS AND NOTES – March 9-17
Being and making faithful followers of our Lord Jesus Christ
ordinary people … Extraordinary Life
DON’T FORGET TO “SPRING AHEAD” FOR THIS SUNDAY, set your clocks ahead one hour for
daylight savings!
The Valuable for March is “Relational”: Would people describe you as a good friend?
Safe in God’s love…
Join us at the Simple Social Potluck Lunch this Sunday at 11:30AM, after the 10AM service. Please
bring some food to share, or some money to defray other costs.
Join others from Nativity in prayer on Monday evenings at a one-hour Prayer Meeting in the Nave
at 7:30, or on first Mondays in Worcester at a regional “Concert of Prayer”. Please pray that we would be
grounded in prayer.
Our Lenten Quiet Day will be held this Saturday, March 9th, from 10AM to 4PM (half-days are
available) featuring two brief meditations from Rev. Stan Bohall - $20 for the day; $10 for a half day;
$5 for lunch. Contact the office to register.
Our next baptisms will be on April 6 & 7. Please see Fr. Len if you are interested.
Shaped in God’s image…
On Sundays in March at 9AM, Fr. Len will offer a four-week seminar on “Getting Things Done”,
sharing insights from the ground-breaking work of David Allen (davidco.com) who has tools to help us to
deal with the crush of information, activities, and tasks that seem to be piled upon us.
Continuing this Wednesday at 7:30PM, “Shaped in God’s Image”, a Lenten experience of growing in
Christ, will be offered. We’ll be looking at being “restful”, finding ways to push back from the relentless
24/7 life we’re living.
Join Julia Kinkel and Paul Gill on Thursdays at 7:30PM at the Church Building for a Lenten Small
Group which is focusing on Spiritual Gifts. No previous group or Bible experience is required. The group
will last for five more weeks and will contain conversation, a study of spiritual gifts for today, mutual
support, and prayer. See them for full details.
This Saturday 9-9:45am we will have a Family Prayer Workshop in Rm 2 -- hands-on activities & fun,
user-friendly tips to bring home. Contact Children’s-Family Minister Maureen Desilets for information.
Children’s & Youth Education & Spiritual Formation this Sunday at 10AM -– Regularly held classes
for youth this Sunday: Nursery in Rm 1, Godly Play I (prek-gr.1) in Rm 2, Godly Play II (gr.2-5) in

Serving in God’s mission…
Please Join us for a one-time Easter Celebration Praise Group/ Choir !! Calling all voices to create a
one-time event choir to sing for Easter Sunday at 10AM. We would like to have all people who love
singing join us for this very special day.
In order to prepare for this day, we've scheduled rehearsals for: Thursday, March 14th- 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.
Thursday, March 21st- 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30th- 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Please join us for any or all
of these rehearsals. We realize that there are many people in our parish, and friends that enjoy singing
with a group, but simply cannot commit on a regular basis. Here's your chance, and we would love having
you get involved. For more questions, please contact: Judy Yauckoes, or Carl Kinkel
Please prayerfully consider serving both our church & community by volunteering for "Kingdom
Rock" this year's Vacation Bible School, Aug 5-9, 9am-12n ... must know before April vacation how many
staff so we can open up spots for registration ... contact Maureen Desilets, or any other VBS folks, with
questions
As the Refuge ministry grows, we occasionally need a volunteer to be present in either the church
building or the Berwick St. house. In order to comply with Safe Church policy, we need to be assured of
having an extra person in the building when people are scheduled for appointments or individual quiet
days. This is a valuable ministry of time and prayer in support of the Refuge. Please contact Sally
Kazarian for more information.
Want to help serve worshippers at all services, and to greet worshippers at the 10AM Service?
We’re still looking for some individuals, couples, or families to help with ushering at all services (see Paul
Gill [5PM], Jim Brainerd [7:45AM] or Deb Burke [10AM]), or see Fr. Len about serving as a greeter at our
10AM service. Welcome, one and all!
Deb Hesek and Mary Ann Judson (former member of Nativity) are going on a mission trip to
Mexico in April to the “Foundation for His Ministry”. Mary Frances Rozak (who went last year but will
only be able to go in spirit this year) is collecting girls’ underwear up to size 12 and children's crew or tube
socks for Deb and Mary Ann to bring with them. There will be a “Mexico Mission” box in the Narthex for
the collection this weekend. If people would rather make a cash donation for the use by the team when
there, for unanticipated needs of the people, checks can be made out to Mary Frances Rozak with memo
FFHM. You can contact Mary Frances at mfrozak@gmail.com for more info.
Help Wanted - Parish Historian - We have numerous historical documents, booklets, and pictures which
should be preserved for future generations. We are looking for someone to organize them into some sort
of usable system. If you have any ideas or would like to take on this project, contact Cindy Loverin.
Have an unused stationary bicycle? A parishioner is in need of some exercise. Contact the office
about donating one.
