User Profile: Visit Data from WebTrekk
• How do your users get to SpringerLink?
• When you see referral type “Direct” this means the user either typed a URL of the
website or a specific page, or clicked a link to the website - for example through a
ToC alert e-mail, syllabus, bookmark, link in any e-mail, link on a website or blog,
etc. “Direct” is all traffic that has not been directed to SpringerLink from a
recognizable search box, or identifiable resolution service, such as a library
catalog or discovery service search box, Google, PubMed, any Specialty Index,
Springer.Com marketing site search, etc. We have come to think of direct traffic
as social/shared in nature.
