Ugh! Studying • Read the summaries, and write a summary about the summary. • Make a test making. • Underline key facts that are important. • Outline rephrase the words into your own. Study!!! • Taylor tried studying her own way which became boring. She then decided to create her own test for the book and got excited. How to Study…the Right Way • Find a study partner • Compare notes with partner. • Don’t study on your bed. • Apples and almonds work the best. Don’t have any sugary drinks but water. • Always take 5 minutes breaks. Test! After Mr. Morris gave her assignment Taylor studied “the right way”. When she got her grade she received an A! A Test Planner • Step 1(one weeks before the test): create test questions • Step 2(day before test): Have a study buddy, make sure to be at school, review lecture notes like a book, look over summaries(skim through). • Step 3(during the test): Read the test questions completely, take your time. • Step 4(after the test): Review your test, fix your test and ask questions about the test. Planning Ahead of Time • Taylor then followed through these steps and succeeded very well. As report cards come up she is positive she’ll be satisfied with her grade. Be a fast NINJA! • Pain before gain do work before hanging out. • BE RESPONSIBLE!!! • Use resources such as teachers, students, and tutors. • Reality check! It going take some time. • Always ask questions! • Read directions closely and carefully. • Talk to students who have been in the class before. Looking Out o_o Taylor always keeps an eye out for cheaters who try to copy her test. She also reviews her notes before the test begins. The day before the test she asks students who have been in the class how Mr. Morris organizes his quizzes. Summer Schools a Bummer so…Don’t GO! • Be prepared for class have homework completed, have books, and ready for any quiz. • Don’t skip out on school. • Write everything that is on the board. • Write 40% and listen 60%. • Use your study buddy. • Take good notes on main things. If you already know then don’t write it down. Schools Almost Out! After receiving her report card, Taylor celebrates by telling her mom she got an A-! Very positive about not going to summer school. However she keeps studying hard and listens and takes notes accurately. Chill your ANDY Keep ANDY Cool • In Morris class everything will have to be memorized. Here are ways to memorize. • Do rhymes. • Have pictures. • Use acronystic(T.G.I.F) • Mnemonics Chill Man Chill.. • Taylor starts to stress out for her final exams. Mr. Morris starts to give his class hints on how to pass exams. She then makes rhythms and starts to use pictures. All these tips and hints gives her confidence. 5 Pillars of Success • Motivation: believe you can do it!!! • Attitude: surround yourself with positive people(friends). • Tools: always be prepared • Perseverance: a well planned risk • Set yourself to WIN!!! Done! • Taylor has finished she conquered her goals and found success! After tough spelling test and headache vocab test she finished. She gave it her all and passed greatly. In the middle of first quarter she found friends who gave her encouragement all the way.
