If you have someone you know who may benefit from a little help with the cost of presents for children over Christmas please don’t hesitate to refer them. Beginning with students applying for fall 2012, Vincennes University will require every applicant to have a high school diploma earned via passage of a graduate qualifying exam (GQE), or to have a general educational development (GED) diploma. This means that students who have a high school diploma earned through a GQE waiver will need to complete certain steps to be considered for admissions. This year's theme is 'Is There Pride in Serving in Our Military?' The top award (national) is $30,000 with the remaining awards being a portion of the remaining $121,000 prize ‘money’. All winners receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC. Deadline for submission is November 1, 2011. The National Center for Women and Information Technology is offering Awards ($500 and a laptop) for Aspirations in Computing for girls in grades 9-12 who have an outstanding aptitude or interest in Information Technology or Computing. The University of Southern Indiana is hosting 'Accounting Day' on Friday, October 28th for any high school students interested in an accounting career.
