Read: Read Chapters as assigned and work through all examples. As you read chapters in your text always take the
Practice Quizzes throughout the chapter and the Summary Practice Quiz at the end of the chapter. There is a
Chapter Organizer at the end of each chapter which does a fantastic job of summarizing the chapter. This is a great
study tool.
Connect Assignments: McGraw-Hill’s Connect is a web-based assignment and assessment solution required for
this course. Connect Assignments (CA) will be assigned for each chapter. Due Dates will be shown on Connect
when the assignment is posted. Assignments not started before the due date will no longer be available. You can
check your answers on the assignments before you submit, so you should receive 100% on all your assignments.
End of Chapter/Appendix Problems: These problems will be found at the end of each chapter or from
Appendix A in the Text – “Additional Homework by Learning Unit.” Check figures for the odd-numbered
problems can be found in Appendix C at the end of the text. This written homework must be submitted
electronically through Canvas. Either scan it and save it as a .pdf or .jpeg, take a picture of it with your phone, or do
the work in Word or Excel and then submit it through the appropriate drop box.
Practice Problems: Remember – The best way to learn math is to practice – So do extra problems if you are
having difficulty in any areas. Most of the Practice Problems assigned come from Appendix A in the Text –
“Additional Homework by Learning Unit.” These problems are not submitted.
Connect Quizzes: Connect Quizzes will be assigned through Connect and will be timed.
Tests: Unit Tests and the Final Exam will be administered through Connect and will be timed.
