World Religions Project
For this project each group will be tasked with creating a Nearpod presentation based on one of the 6
major world religions we have discussed thus far.
There are 5 sections in this project that each group must complete. Below is each section. It will be
indicated what app or website you will use to complete each section. If you use another app or website it
must be approved.
The 6 major world religions are: Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and Confucianism.
Each of the following sections will be worth 15 points of the final grade.
Geography:







How many people practice this religion worldwide?
Compare this amount to the other 5 major world religions. (Must provide in chart form)
What part of the world is your religion practiced in? (Continent and countries)
What is the largest population of your religion and in what country or countries?
How many Americans practice your religion? How many people in Georgia?
At least one comparison to another of the major religions.
(Use the Google Earth App to take screen shots of important areas. Import you image into the
Skitch App to add annotations)
Annual Holidays or Traditions:
 What are the names of your religion’s yearly holiday(s)?
 What event do the holidays represent? What is the significance of this holiday? (Must provide in
chart form)
 What traditions are associated with this holiday?
 At least one comparison to another of the major religions.

Role of Women and Men:




How are women treated in your religion?
Give at least 3 examples for men and women?

 Describe the conflict that created the break or breaks in your religion.

Nearpod:
 Inputting material in Nearpod and creating a quiz will be worth 25 points
 Finally you must upload all your material into a Nearpod presentation. You will have to create a
Nearpod account to fully use Nearpod. All material can be added into Nearpod, but it is
important to not wait until the last minute.
 On the Nearpod, you must add a 5 question quiz, which someone who watches your Nearpod
would be able to pass. You will in fact present your Nearpod and give the quiz in class.
