2016 International Conference on Art Therapy – A World of Healing Arts Without Strangers 《藝術醫心無疆界 - 2016 藝術治療國際論壇》 Introduction You are cordially invited to attend and submit proposal for presentation in the 2016 International Conference on Art Therapy to be hosted by the Hong Kong Institute for Counseling Professionals in Hong Kong on May 27-29, 2016. The aim of the 2016 International Conference on Art Therapy is to provide a platform for art therapists from various cultural backgrounds to display diverse perspectives on art therapy as pursued in different cultures. We believe interactive sharing is the most fundamental and valuable way to learn new skills and exchange knowledge on different means and art therapy tools. The Conference would also serve the purpose of stimulating potential collaboration among art therapists across geographic regions. The Conference will feature the esteemed keynote speakers Dr. Cathy Malchiodi and Ms. Elaine Hall and master class presenters Dr. Jane Richardson, Dr. Elizabeth Warson, Ms. Cornelia Elbrecht, and Ms. Joanne Lara. The Conference will also be a congregation of more than 20 other cutting-edge art therapy pioneers from all over the world such as USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Italy, Jordan, Israel, Singapore, India, Malaysia, Lebanon, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China delivering workshops and papers on the use of art therapy in different cultures and contexts. In view of the urgent need for assistance by children and adolescents with special educational needs and people who have experienced trauma, the theme of this Conference will focus on those groups of people in need. The Conference is organized by a group of passionate and professional art therapists, clinical psychologists and social workers. All surplus of this Conference will be donated to the Psycho-Art Therapy Association, a team of volunteers using art therapy to help people in need in China, Hong Kong, Nepal, Cambodia and Myanmar. Being the hosts of such a world-wide event, we would like to invite all experienced psychologists, psychiatrists, art therapists, social workers, and human services practitioners to witness this exciting and important moment in the history of art therapy. Your full support will be of great encouragement and affirmation for our mission to spread art therapy throughout the world and to reach our ultimate goal – to maximize the utility of art therapy tools for the benefit of the service users over the world. You are cordially invited to submit a proposal for presentation on topics relevant to the theme of the Conference. Proposal submission criteria Proposals may be submitted as single case study presentations or grouped into a series of educational symposia workshops.
