University/Campus marketing of Open Day:
Feedback from Campus wide meetings:

Focus group research was conducted to assess Y10, Y11 and Y12 student opinions about Monash Open
Day. A formal report will be distributed when it becomes available

Website and radio seen as important sources of information – will maximise within university/campus budget
limits

Central promotional plan and theme/ branding yet to be finalized. A brainstorming session was held where
ideas for improvement were suggested:

Promoting it as the ‘First Open Day of the year’ to careers coordinators (i.e. in the mail out to them in
June which includes Open Day posters and flyers);

Potential for ‘sticky-note’ advertising in The Age;

BLOG on website – student to student interaction;

Social media: Facebook or Twitter Open Day account;

Keeping in contact with students who have attended/ signed up for Open Day throughout the year (we
will be able to achieve this through the eNews direct mail system);

Review Open Day program to highlight key areas of interest;

Open Day decals on Monash University cars; and

Careers Advisors Seminar in June – options for extra promotion.
