Recent Training & Consulting Work History
September 2005 to present, Business & Technology Instructor, NB Community College—Fredericton Centre
I am currently instructing part-time courses in Computer Concepts, Windows XP, Internet Concepts, Email, Time
Management software and Accounting Essentials. The courses are part of an Office Administration Diploma program.
January 2002 to June 2005, Business & Technology Instructor, Atlantic Business College
I taught all the coursework for the Business and Computer Technology Diploma Program. It is a part-time program
designed for mature individuals who have been in the workforce for a number of years, but wish to find employment in
an IT-driven organization or advance in their current positions. Courses include: Internet, Windows98, Web Design,
Word 2000, Excel 2000, Access 2000, PowerPoint 2000, Accounting, Computerized Accounting and Outlook (email).
June 2004 to June 2005, Computer & Business Training Consultant
City of Fredericton (Dept. of Transportation) – Within the past 6 months, worked with 3 to 5 staff members on-site at
re-designing their custom Access database for sign and road maintenance. My focus is to train key personnel at using
the database functions effectively and efficiently.
Greenarm Management – Customized an accounting course for 6 to 10 clerks at the request of the Chief Operating
Officer. It was a twelve hour course covering the accounting cycle and other specific topics defined by the client as
necessary for the employees in need of training.
Individual clients requesting one-to-one training – Presently working with 3 clients who, at their convenience, arrange
training time with me in various software applications (mostly Office 2000 products). Each client works for a different
company and is looking to fulfill training objectives, advance in position or obtain employment in a related field.

Offered a 2-afternoon workshop with MS Excel and PowerPoint - Introductory Level
Fall 2002 to November 2004, Computer Training Consultant, Bob Gibson - Bayer Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Have provided, over a 2 year period, regular training in MS Office products. Customize 2 hour sessions.
December 2004, Computer Training Consultant, Mapleleaf Foods (Clark’s Chick Hatchery)
Designed a custom advanced 2-day Excel course for 7 employees that focused on complex functions. Provided clients with
training that showed how the spreadsheet software applied to their business and related functions that could improve the
efficiency of their production and finance departments.
Summer 2003 to Fall 2004, Web Designer and Trainer, Hill Bros Realty and Investments
Developed Hill Bros web site including original digital photos and graphic elements, links to AutoCAD .dwf files for viewing
development plans and dynamic HTML features. Subsequently trained the owner in FrontPage 2000 to enable him to
perform his own web site maintenance and uploads. Remained on-call to help with edits, uploads and upgrading.

On-site one-to-one training to a client in MS Office to help her re-enter the work force after a period of disability.
Summer 2004, Computer Training Consultant, Federal Court Administration
On-site one-to-one training to 3 individuals in Advanced Word 2000 techniques.
October 2002 to January 2004, Database and Graphics Designer, Dept. of Education (NB), Evaluations Branch
Hired on contract to design Grade 8 and Grade 11 Provincial Math Exams, using a test bank software called LXR Test to
build a test bank database of approved questions. I also created and edited the exams in collaboration with the project
leader and designed all required mathematical equations and graphics.
Fall 1998 to January 2001, Web Designer & Director of Information Technology, HTM Industries Inc.
Designed and maintaining web site, pursued e-commerce opportunities, supervised programming and maintenance of the
inventory database, spearheaded a research and development effort with the University of New Brunswick to seek new
ways to automate the lumber industry, coordinated of the gradual implementation of additional computers and networking
systems, and developed marketing strategies using IT (graphic design, computer presentations, trade show coordination).

March 2000 to March 2002, Training Consultant & Intranet Project Team Member, Star Choice Communications
Collaborated with the Training Department in developing a series of courses tailored to the IT backgrounds of over 250 callcenter employees. The courses covered Windows NT and related procedures, MS Outlook and an overview of MS
Explorer. Subsequently, I was asked to stay on as a consultant in the creation of the Star Choice Intranet. My contributions
included design of the web backgrounds and graphics, suggestions regarding back-end programming and database
systems, participation in the development of proposals for further Intranet funding and training the Intranet Coordinator on
FrontPage2000 and Photoshop 5.0.
Spring 2000, Consultant, Patrick Hill, Rick Miles and Blair Brewer (CostHouse.com)
Researched the market potential, analyzed and edited the financial section of the marketing report and acted as a liaison to
the ACOA representative for funding for entrepreneurs needing assistance in developing a business and marketing plan in
order to start up a new dot-com company. Also developed an on-line survey for potential customer data collection and
made recommendations on the viability of this business idea.
